Tiny speakers

I have a 2017 CS 3513 and am in the process of modifying the A/V system. Has anyone replaced the factory tiny 5.1 system speakers in the ceiling. I know there are better units out there? They look like the ceiling is built around the speakers.
Thanks
Bob

TKS 007 I did not see anything referring to the tiny 3X3 over head speakers. Does not seem to be a good match with the amp

Other than the size of the ceiling speakers, they are only 6 ohms and can not properly care the sound.

I started a similar thread about a year ago and found 2 possible solutions. First was buying larger speakers and opening the holes in the ceiling and second was to buy a good sound bar.

Bought a Denon sound bar and haven't looked back since.

that's my thought too. I have sound bar do you use both? I could see where a good sound bar would enhance the sound. I still wonder if the cover pops off the speaker or how are they installed?

Tiny speakers

The covers will pop off of the speaker. No big deal.

I don't use the receiver anymore and think that the sound bar quality is much better. I also like the idea that the Denon is blue tooth and can be controlled by my iPhone while driving.

Here are some small speakers that should fit in the ceiling. I replaced the front center speaker with a Polk TL1 Center that I mounted under the TV. This is where most of the sound comes from and focuses the sound in the right place. I have currently left the 4 surround speakers in the ceiling but am considering left and right speakers under the front cabinet and replacing the rear surround with something better.
Many have upgraded these speakers and are discussed in old threads.

Since the wires are already in the ceiling you can buy auto type speaker that are surface mount over the old holes but there is one caveat. You won't know how much room there is behind the original speaker until you remove it.

While speakers are available everywhere you might want to visit an auto stereo specialty shop to see what they recommend.

all good ideas, I think I'll pop the covers off and see what I have to work with. I'm not all that impressed with the A/V set up as a whole.

I put in Polk in-ceiling speakers, RC80i and 255C-RT center channel speaker. Powered by a Marantz NR-1608 - sounds amazing!

I wonder whether anyone has found a nice way to install a pair of Magnepans - maybe the mmc2's (Magnepan) , or the mini desk system. Purely for use when not driving, of course.

I installed Focal Integration ISC 100 speakers in the ceiling. I ordered them from Crutchfield. They sound great. I also replaced the radio with a Pioneer MVH-X580BS. Then I bought 6x9s, Pioneer TS-A6996R. I installed them in 6x9 boxes which I screwed into the side walls on the driver and passenger sides. I added a 8" powered subwoofer by Kicker,11HS8. I put that on the floor next to the passenger seat. I ran the wires under the dash - I used a wire puller to feed them. It totally transformed the sound.
