Tire Pressure on my Bay Star 3401

I bought a 2015 Bay Star 3401 and am about to make my first 1300 mile trip from Oklahoma to Maryland. CAT Scales (with full gas, propane and fresh water) was a follows: Steer Axle 6780# Rear Axle 14100#. Tires are 245/75R, 22.5. So if I do the front math 6780/2=3390. Round up on the tire chart for front is 3470# and that pressure is 70psi. On the rear 14100/4=3525. Rounded up on the tire chart is 85psi. Checked the air pressure today and all 6 tires are at 100psi. I adjusted all down to 90 as I thought 100 was just too high. Am I O.K. at 90 all the way around or in your opinion should I lower the front pressure? If I use a 10% rule everybody seems to talk about would I be better at 77 front (70=10%=77) and 93 rear (85+10%=93)? Help please. Thanks and God Bless

I use 90 all around on my BSS although the tables say I should be under 85.

Keep in mind the BSS has 19.5 tires versus 22’s on the Bay Star, and other chassis differences.

I have a 2017 BayStar 3401 with similar weights. I run 85 lbs in the front and 90 lbs in the rear. Much better ride and tracking than the 105 lbs when delivered.

Every time I have it serviced I get it back at 105 lbs if I don’t specifically request my preferred pressures and I can tell immediately.

Just add 10% to what Michelin says for your tire size on their website and you’ll be fine.

Go with what the charts say, not your gut, not 10% more. That's what they're there for.
