Tire Size

When I bought the coach it had 7 year old 295/80r/22.5 Michelin tires. ( They had side wall cracking) I replaced them with Toyo tires of the same size. Now I find that the correct size should be 275/80r/22.5 according to the spec sheet on the wall. The GPS speed matches the speedometer so that does not seem to be an issue. Tire clearance seems OK. I am thinking I do not have an issue, but am wondering why a PO upped the size.

Could be that he got a good deal on that size, or it was all that was available at the time. Or, he thought it would make a difference in the ride. Or...???

Hard to know why folks do things, but if all is as you say it is, then I wouldn't lose any sleep over a small difference in tire size.

Need to check to see if your front axle weights are OK with the 275 tire. There is a 1,000 lbs. difference in weight caring between a 275 and 295 tire. That means 2,000 lbs in front axle weight difference. Have owned Newmar's for over 22 years it is save to say that it didn't come with 295 front tires but should have been 275-80-22.5 tires or 305-70-22.5.
