Verify that the baseplate you install DOES have a crossmember that is strong enough. There was a posting here a while back where the baseplpate did not, the tow bar did not, and the start and stop flexing tore the front of the unibody 'frame' off one side. They pulled into camp with only the safety cable on the drivers side. The car was totaled just because of no lateral support.

OP's profile says he has a 43" diesel pusher so he can tow just about anything.
Full size 4x4 pickup.
Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Tahoe/Yukon, Acadia, etc.

Chevrolet Spark is 4 door with enough room for 4 adults or 2 & a German Shepherd. Only 2400 pounds. Barely know it's there.
Newer models of some vehicles have lighter metal so are less robust than earlier.
Were going to go with Blue Ox, but the installer convinced us that the Roadmaster was a better product for towbar and baseplate. Went with the Air Force One so we don't futz with a box every time... just connect an air hose.

I have towed many different vehicles behind both a class C and a class A Diesel. If cost is a concern, you can tow almost any front wheel drive car on a tow dolly. I have had 2 Master Tow dollies both with surge brakes, and they worked very well as long as you have a pull through camp site. They are a little cumbersome if you have back in sites. Just a year ago, I bought a new F 150 and set it up to flat tow, and I really like this set up the best.It is quite a bit more expensive to set up initially with the tow bar and car brackets, wiring, and towed brake system, but it is worth it. A good tow dolly with brakes is $2000-2400 and the tow bar and required hardware is about $4500.

It comes off, however, after our trip is over. I think you will find that towing is a great way to go.

The bar across in front of vehicle is for a guardian rock guard

We tow a to 2016 Chevy Sonic that weighs 2700 lbs with the 1.8L engine and automatic trans. I will never understand where the idea came from that when you have a 5000 lb or more towing capacity that you have to max it out. No doubt the vehicle that some people are towing that by itself is near the capacity of the motorhome is loaded with the stuff that wouldn't fit in a storage compartment in the motorhome.

We towed our Expedition Max all over the place because that is what we had even though it was big and heavy. When it came time for me to get a new vehicle, I chose a Wrangler because I always wanted one and based on information on this forum, it was a great tow vehicle. Even though it is a heavier than many Wranglers because we got the 392, it is night and day compared to the Expedition.(I know, everything is night and day compared to an Expedition Max). Easy to hook up, Easy to tow, and fun as hell to drive.

Caravan
I chose a 2006 Grand Caravan SXT with stow and go seats. Got a transmission pump so it keeps the automatic trans cool while being towed. I like the 7 passenger seating that 5 seats folds flat in the floor then I can haul almost anything that a small ranger pick up can haul. Plus make a fine camper. 20 mpg

Mini Cooper S
My wife and I have been RVing in motorhomes since 2005. We started out with a Four Winds Windsport. We bought our 2nd coach in 2013, a 2008 Four Wind Hurricane. (I am looking now to get a newer coach). All this time we have used Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Wranglers and for the last 6 years a Jeep Grand Cherokee. About 6 months ago I decided to try something new. After reading about towing a Mini, I got a 2019 Mini Cooper S Hatchback.
Love it. OK it's small in size. But, is larger inside than you realize.
The main reason I went with the Mini was the weight. The Grand Cherokee was an easy set up and pull. But, it weighed about 5000lbs. The Mini weighs 2500lbs.
A requirement for the Mini is that it has to be a manual transmission. My mini is a 6 gear. That I have grown to love. Took me back to my teen years with 4 on the floor. I have always used Blue Ox (base plate and tow bar)for tow equipment. So I have the Blue Ox base plate (they make one for Minis) and I have always used a Brake Buddy.
Once you have all the base plate, Brake Buddy, etc. set up. The hookup and tow is very easy. You make sure the ignition is off; put the gear in neutral and lock the doors. You are ready to go. It's like you are not towing anything.
This has been my experience, and hope everyone is satisfied to their own vehicles.
Just thought I would share mine.

We just moved from a Wrangler. It just did not suit our needs. Good for what it is but not some other things.
Good things:
Small easy to park/get around town
Off road (but we don't)
Easy to tow
Bad:
Low comfort level
Small (not good for avoiding a rental for long Christmas trip with 3 dogs while leaving coach)
Low power (might be better not ours was a 2017 Sahara 2door)
Hard to get groceries in with soft top on
Only really for 2
Not to our liking on highway.
Anyhow thing how you will use to see what fits. Jeeps are very easy to tow 4 down.
Tom

I like boondocking, off road exploring, and wanted comfort and the least hassle.
I bought a 2008 Tacoma access cab V6 4x4 with a 6.5 foot bed then added a Remco drive shaft disconnect, Roadmaster towing kit, US Gear progressive breaks installed, and metal rollup cover (500 lbs capacity) for the bed. I towed it with my 2004 Sprinter Class B for 79K miles, and then so far 35K miles with my 1012 Newmar Bay Star. It has only been driven under its own power for 41K miles. It is quick to hook up and unhook to my RV, the bed is my chuck wagon, supplies, chairs, and stuff that does not easily fit in my RV. I travel alone, camp in Rocky Mountain bear country. I have equipment to spend a few days off road if so desired. The toad weighs 4,700 lbs. loaded. It is comfortable and quiet on 80 MPH speed limit roads, and has much more comfort for a 6'2" 250lb, guy with size 12.5 boots. Jeeps are too small, noisy, and uncomfortable for me.

Okay, you see different folks have different strokes. Oh, F4Gary said the OP had a 43 inch motor home. That's a really short thing. I bet it's called a stub. Ha ha ha, just kidding F4Gary.
We have towed a VW, a Saturn SUV, a Jeep Wrangler and now an Equinox. I liked the Jeep
Wrangler. But it was a little difficult for Jan climbing in and out. We use a Roadmaster tow bar set up.

Toad
We tow a 2017 Fiat 500 convertible.
Under 3000lbs (2200') so no additional braking systems needed ($$$$)
It's a MANUAL transmission
We use a Blue OX
Just put it in Neutral and take off the parking brake. That is IT.
It has a small back seat, doors open out almost 90 degrees and if you ever need to move it a "little here a little there" when hooking or unhooking you can do it with your foot (or tookus for us full figured pilots)
