Trade in Bay Star for Ventana
I like my Bay Star a lot, but am thinking of trade in for a 3709( I think that's it) 2017 Ventana. Same dealer that I got my Bay Star from last year. He said he would give me 100K for my Bay Star. The Vent Anatolia is loaded and 5 feet longer than my 32 ft Bay Star. The Ventana would cost me $225.
So I have never ridden in a DP. What would I be expecting. Chime in you Ventana owners!

Better ride, handling, quieter. We went from a Winnebago Adventurer to the Ventana LE. We were looking at a Canyon Star, but drove the Ventana and that was it. We've had it for almost a year and love it

We have had our 2017 Ventana 3709 for two months now & two short trips. We came from a class C & found the ride & quietness of the DP is huge. The full wall slide makes for a very spacious interior. We originally didn't think we wanted a bath & a half, but after using the coach, we really like having both bathrooms. Good luck with your decision & let us know if we can answer any other questions.

We went from an 07 Itasca Suncruiser 35A to the Ventana 4369 and absolutely love this coach. It is total electric, has two recliners across from tv (on televator behind couch), and all the rest of the bells and whistles.
It rides, drives and handles unbelievably well with the tag axle and comfort drive. We have not been out west yet, but the east coast mountains ( Blue Ridge and Appalachian) have not slowed us down. Great power and torque coming out of the drivetrain. We are really glad we bought it.
If you decide to move up to a DP, I think you will be amazed at the difference. It's the first one I drove and owned. I now can understand everyone who feels strongly about moving up to one.

agreed with all that has been said....
moving from a gasser to a pusher is a big upgrade.....
i went from a georgetown XL gasser on the 24K chassis to the phaeton....your move, skipping the ventana LE and going to the ventana, would be similar....
if you can swing it financially, do it...you will never regret it....

Absolutely agree...if you can swing it you will not regret it.
We just got our '13 3433 and have only driven it 800 mi home but it was a pleasure coming from a gasser.

Willi is right on the money. I have a 2016 Ventana 4322 and traded a 2016 Ventana LE 4037 for it. The upgrades in the Ventana, over the LE, are worthwhile and make it a long term buy. If the finances work, that would be a good decision.

We started with a Bay Star and really enjoyed it. Then traded it for a Ventana LE and now a Ventana. What a tremendous difference. The lack of noise in the DP makes a world of difference not to minimize the quality of ride. People always said there was a difference b/t gas and DP and that is certainly the case. And besides, our dogs like the ride in the Ventana.

Ok - no takers on the Bay Star for Essex Exchange? . ... ...

5 feet - what are you getting?
What are you after?
What do you like with the Bay Star - Dislike? Same Question 3709?
Will the New Coach get you what you Want/Need?
What is $225K getting for you?
For me - I question the bath and a 1/2 in 37' - Sorry but - I'd like a little more stretch out room.
Is the Diesel engine big enough? enough torque? will it pull a heavier Toad (Oh, now we need to factor in the New Toad. .
Does the seating work? Do you like the Booth? If you could have it built differently what would you change?
If you just go ahead and jump into a 45 you can save a lot of time. . .
Maybe sleep on it a couple more nights.
JMHO,

If you want to upgrade and can afford it, do it. Have driven gas A's and owned a great Class C for 10 years. Liked them all. But, our VTDP is the most comfortable and home like RV we've used.
Make sure you drive the one you want and spend lots of time sitting in dealer coaches (days, not minutes). Play like you are living in it. You have enough experience after owning a BS to know what doesn't work.
One caution, no coach is ever "perfect". Each has something the owner would like to change - but that's human nature.
The 3709, both in VTDP and DSDP has been around for a long time so it must be a popular model.

Busskipper......great questions. Double the price and &20k sales tax in California. Don't know if I can swing the cost. Coach, insurance, DMV fees every year.

DPs are more expensive - we have owned one.
If you can afford it - - go for it. Otherwise you have a nice motor home presently - enjoy it.
One thing also to consider when moving over to a diesel is maintenance. Case in point - your V10 takes 7 quarts of oil - a DP will take 25+ quarts......
Just sayin'

Yea, you might be right. Diesels are more expensive maintenance, insurance, I'll probably keep my Bay Star. I've been pretty happy with it. Just dreaming.

Don't feel bed - it really depends on how you want to use it and what you can afford. I really like my BSS. There are just two of us and we won't be staying in it for more than a month at a time. I can buy a LOT of gas for the difference in price between it and a DP.
Is the Vent nicer? Sure. Would be happier with one and a bunch of debt? Absolutely not.
