Trim on FWS carpeting

My 2015 Dutch Star is now almost 4 years old and I'm wondering how long that binding along the edge of the carpet on the floor of the FWS is going to last. It gets steps on and walked on a lot so it seems it's not going to last very long.
Has anyone had to replace, repair, or patch the carpet trim on their coach? If the thread breaks or pulls off the edge of the carpet what can a person do?
Anyone have to fix theirs?

My last coach the carpet was down for 12 years before I replaced all the carpet. The binding still looked new.

My last coach was 11 years old when I traded it for my new 2015 and the carpeting on it still had the same edging also but that part of the carpet wasn't in a heavy travel area like the one now does along the full wall slide, whether the slide is in or out.
With the slide in the carpet edge is raised a couple of inches making any treading on really hard on the edging, and with the slide out the edging gets stepped on all the time. Just seems a very weak place on the carpeting.
