After some investigation and a call to True Induction.... we discovered the 2 burner (built-in) unit is subject to periodic problems if the power drops out and quickly kicks in again. The fix is to unplug (or shut down 120v in the rig for a few minutes). It was explained the longer you leave the power off, the more likely the unit will "reset". I don't buy this with electronics.... I unplugged for 10 mins and all was well again. Your mileage may vary :-)

Try turning breaker off and back on

We've lived in our coach with the True Induction for about 7 months now. It has worked flawlessly except once when one of the burners didn't turn on. I went to the breaker which is in the half bath, turned it off, waited a couple of minutes and then turned it back on. All has been fine since and that was months ago. Any of these "smart" devices can benefit from an occasional reboot. Also, we purchased a cover to match our counter top from Newmar. I don't remember the cost but felt it was quite reasonable. There have been threads about those tops.

I too didn't like that this cooktop doesn't have a lock out button. I installed a surge protector under my sink and wired it into that, now I flip it off when not being used.

A cover for the cooktop not only adds to the safety, but offers additional counter work space. Newmar as a source is very costly...there are several vendors that offer attractive covers, made to your specs, at a much lower price. Suggest you might want to check them out.

That may be why originally True Induction recommended a way to shut off power to unit when not in use.

Please offer some suggestions as to who these suppliers might be.😉

I have questions to add if I may.....

Our induction cook-top seems to pulsate the heat. Is that normal? It makes it a little harder to control when boiling water or frying bacon. Why doesn't it produce a gradual steady heat? Just doesn't seem right, are we doing something incorrectly?

Regards,
W.D.

The True Induction cooktop varies the power on settings 1 and 2. 3-10 are constant power.

Using a pan with more mass on the bottom moderates the fluctuating power, but heats up more slowly. Thinner pans heat up faster, but the power fluctuation is easy to see.

I reported on some personal testing in this thread

I dug up this old thread after doing some research for the same problem. It's always a good idea to get it on record for anyone dealing with this in the future.

We have the True Induction 2 burner built-in unit in our 2017 Allegro Bus. All of a sudden one of the burners has decided to stop working. When we hit the power button and then choose one of the two options (either the number based or temp based heat indication) it comes up, like 5 for instance, and then the number disappears and 3 lines/dots appear and then that burner turns off. We have induction pots/pans that have been working fine for the last 3 years so that isn't it.

I will try and find a way to unplug the unit to do the reset thing and report back. I would assume the plug can be accessed somewhere under the cabinets in the kitchen even though the dishwasher is directly underneath.

Turning the circuit breaker off has the same effect as unplugging, and eliminates digging through cabinets.

I made a custom Bamboo cutting board that went over the True cooktop. The link below will take you to the web site, they will cut the bamboo board to whatever size you want and they have multiple thickness.

I made our oversized then bought some "Feet" on Amazon, measured and placed the feet on the board so that it remains in place over the cooktop.

Our new coach has a recessed cooktop, however we are still using our bamboo custom made top.

My cook top just started doin the exact same thing. Only the right burner and the left works fine. Did you get a resolution yet?

I had the same problem today. After unplugging it and letting it think in the corner about its errant ways, I plugged it back in and it's behaving fine again. Look for the plug under the sink area. I had two cords plugged into 2 outlets...the second one was for the dishwasher. The cooktop cord was almost like standard lamp cord. The dishwasher cord was a bit more substantial.
