Turn signal problem on new King Aire

We just got a new King Aire and have about 3,000 miles on it when the left turn signal quit working. I checked the fuse and the fuse was good, the right turn signal works fine and shows the green indicator light on the dash working, the right side camera working, and the right rear and front of the coach working but....

When I turn on the left signal, the front turn lights do not work, the rear turn lights do not work and the green indicator dash light does not work, the camera does not show the right side either, it still stays in the rear view position.

Has anyone else been faced with this problem?

My dealer tells me that he is 4 weeks behind on service before I can get in, and Newmar tells me that this is a Spartan problem. I contacted Spartan center in Dallas and they are 4 weeks out as well.

Any and all help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Billy

New King Aire turn signal problem

I forgot to mention in my earlier post that when I hook up my tow vehicle the left turn signal will work on my tow vehicle, but not work on the back of the coach or the front of the coach.

Swap both bulbs left to right. See if the problem swaps sides. The bulb is most likely the issue.

The OP says this so there is no way it's a bulb!

It sounds to me like a relay. The turn signals on the toad work off of a different set of fuses You might look at electric diagram. If there are relays for right and left you might try switching them. I don't have a spartan. I believe I would call newmar back and get another person. Steve mosher

I don't see it. He describes a scenario that a relay or a bulb failure would create.

You have two fuses in your Bussman Black Box. One labeled 7.5 amp Left Stop/ Turn LT and a 7.5 amp Trailer Left Stop/Turn. This could account for your tow vehicle left turn signal working and Left rear RV not. This black box is usually mounted on the Spartan Frame rail on the passenger side in compartment in front of tag axle. Worth Checking!

Did you actually pull the fuse to check it ? We had a problem with our dash air quitting and turned out to be corrosion on the relay prongs. The chassis's transport and sit outside at Newmar prior to going into the coach. Just a thought.

[I actually pulled the fuse and it was good, but I put a new fuse in anyway and it still did not fix my problem.

A 12 volt test light could give you a lot of answers if you or someone who knows how to check for power with a test light. Have you tried Spartan for suggestions?

I used the test the very first thing and found that I had power in the right side rear, but not in the left side rear. I also found out that my running lights would still work, the brake lights would still work....just not the left rear/front turn signals. The backup camera would work to the right side when I turned my right turn signal on and when I turned it off the camera would go back to the "rear site" then when I turned on my left blinker the camera would not change....it stayed put showing the rear site. Spartan, seems think it is Newmars problem and Newmar thinks it is Spartan but either way it is my problem now....the dealer where I bought it from has forgotten my name now that the "ink is dry on my check"...

Process of elimination:

Since the toad works and the coach does not, it's not the switch
fuse checked, not the fuse.
find the relays and switch them, if it follows the relay, replace it.
If it stayed then check the wires to the relay socket, test for power coming into the relay.
