Turn signals not working in coach
Hey all, maybe this should a post to Freightliner but let me start here since you all are more familiar with the coach itself.
Pulling out of RV park with toad. Turn signals don’t work.
I checked the fuse box under drivers seat bay. Didn’t see any marked turn signal. I’m on hold with FTL but taking a long time and no response.
Brake lights work.
Can anyone offer a quick suggestion?
I didn’t do a lot of research first since I’m in a bit of a hurry. Left our spot and taking up space in the parking lot
Thanks

Do the 4-way flashers work? If not, your flasher relay is probably bad.

They do not work either
If if I have to get a new relay, how does it normally get to one like me that is in an RV park? I drive to nearest FTL location?
Thanks for the help
Doug

It should be a round plugin in your fuse box. You might have to take it out and find the nearest parts store. Taking it with you should help you find the correct one. If you do not want to drive the coach, unhook your toad. It is a hassle, I know. Driving the coach could be an issue and most parts stores do not have the in-out room for combo vehicles. Hope this helps!

You could also check with the campground, they might know the closest place to get parts.

Freightliner is telling me that since I have a smart wheel that this is in a multiplex module, their words, that is not user serviceable. Get to drive to FTL dealer. This will be fun. Going to have wife drive behind me and run interference. Thanks for the help

Bummer! Great idea on having DW behind you running interference.
Travel safely.

We made it home ok. DW did a great job of pilot car driving. Being my first DP, I had wished there was more repair and Maintenance I could do myself. So not being able to fix something little like turn signals is a bit frustrating. I received help here, from FTL on the phone and from other threads. But I think the key is that if you have the smart wheel, things get tricky. I’ll post the final solution just just for the record once I get the RV to the dealer, probably first thing next week.

Glad you made it home safely! These new electronic systems sure can make life difficult. Hope everything works out for the best! Seeing that it is a 17 coach, hopefully they will warranty the issue!

Only the switches that are actually on the steering wheel go through the smart wheel interface. The turn signals are hardwired just like most others.

Turn signals not working in coach
I have seen hazard switches cause this concern on other vehicles, you might try and move the hazard switch rapidly a few times and see if it changes, sometimes it's the hazard switch contacts that get contaminated.

Thanks. We were a bit concerned trying to drive that rig without turn signals but we made it without incident. Yes it is under warranty. And thankful for that. Just have to drive it to the nearest Freightliner dealer 30 minutes away, which happens to be an Oasis dealer. So all things considered, we are fortunate.

I’m sure this is easier that it seems. I had 2 folks from Freightliner on the phone having me look all over for a fuse. Finally the more senior one said what I mentioned earlier, that the Smart Wheel meant it was some multiplex module. Im eager to find out what actually fixes it. I’ll post the final solution.
