Hi greg-1,
Not knowing any of the details asked by Triker56, the first step is usually to program the dome for the service you have. Once that is done one can connect their receiver and have satellite TV.

Yep, need more data.

I'm not familiar with a dish/receiver combo which can handle both Dish Network and DirecTv without at least doing some switch setting changes.

How about the receiver?

Was the PO using Dish or Direct?

What does the "Mio 3" look like?

Is is a folded up satellite dish or an enclosed dome? The only reference I can find to Mio 3 says it's an older GPS system.

Hopefully, you can provide answers to the other questions in order to get more help... but if you still don't get an answer here and you'd like me to move your thread to the technology forum just let me know.

Check the little phone jack plug from the antenna and make sure it's plugged in to the back of the sat unit. I don't know if this will solve your problem but it worked for me on my 2006 K-Star KSDP 3910. Hope I was of some help.
