Two dishes

I have an in motion dish now. I would like to have an HD dish for DIRECTV. Is it possible to have both?

Yes if the wiring is in place or can be run

We have two, the in motion runs the bedroom and the HD runs the living room and outside. Northtrail installed A B switches but never could get them to work without having to reprogram our receivers every time we switched.

Yes, 2 dishes are very doable. We use the low-def dome while traveling and the HD when stationary.....and the feeds ARE to ALL TVs! DTV recently updated their software so you don't need to change dish types everytime you switch.

Is there some sort of switch that has to be installed? How do you choose between the two?

By DTV do you mean Direct TV and do you have to change the switch.

Yes, DirectTV. You bring a single coax off the roof from each dish, into a " swm" device from DTV. You select between the two with an A/B switch. When setting up, you switch to the HD dish; when traveling, you use the old style low-def dome dish.
