BattChief, I noticed the bottom feet of your ladder as well. Just got myself one of those and love it. Think I will add a second storage slot like you did for my ladder. Thanks for sharing.

Put a Sewer Hose label on each cap. Know one will mess with your ladder

For me, it adds valuable storage, and I like it!

I hear ya.
Some people don't like my insect collection 'cause I keep it plastered on my front cap.
Sometimes collect hundreds of bugs from 6 or 7 states before the rain washes them off.
BTW, if you think about it we're lucky that bugs can't scream.

Convenient, cheap custom storage for rigid or semi-rigid long items. Functionality. Mel, I wouldn't have thought we'd hear YOU advising someone to be concerned about what others thought.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful ideas. This certainly looks like something I want to do. A couple of minor questions: 1. What kind of paint would you recommend? 2. Do you drill vent/drain holes in these, especially the sewer storage?

Did you run out of room in your lockable compartments?
Wondering.

I used a flat black Krylon for plastic, wood and metal. The Krylon from the old days would have worked well, but it's not that way anymore. If you have a spray gun, ideally, vinyl paint from an auto body shop would be best, IMHO.
As far as drain holes, I've seen posts where others have, but I have caps on my hoses, so I chose not to add drain holes.

I got mine at either an Escapees rally or an FMCA rally. They are available at camping world and other fine camping establishments. Seems I saw an ad for one on Amazon not too long ago.

My thoughts exactly. Especially for the ladder. Michigan roads are that bad.

It's not that I care what anyone does with/to their coach, (but I sometimes wonder why things are done).

Underbody Sewer Hose Storage

Lloyd, there are both primers and topcoats now available formulated to bond to plastic. The vinyl post covers have a very high gloss, and when new still have some manufacturing lubricants on them. I thoroughly washed mine, then sanded lightly with about 180 or 220 grit. I applied two coats of plastic primer, and two coats of plastic topcoat. They really looked good! That said, remember that these things when mounted are right in the path of the worst of the road grit-- so unless you use some kind of hard cure epoxy, be prepared for a bit of touch-up from time to time.
My mounting process resulted in a few 1" holes being drilled for tool access, so venting and drainage are non-issues.
