Universal Remote Control

Having our walk thru today with our new motorhome and one of the options we have is the universal remote control. My question is, does the dealer program the remote or is it easily something DH can do?

Any remote should come fully programed so the dealer can test all operations during the PDI. and demonstrate them to you during your walk through.
It should also come with a boatload of instructions, so you can re-program them yourself if need be.

I'm thinking that if you're using a satellite (Dish, DirecTV) receiver, it will have to be programmed into your universal remote.

When we picked up our DSDP in 2011 the Universal Remote Control had been set up for our TV, DVD, and Sound System. Once you get used to it, works great, but goes through batteries a couple of times per year.

When we gor our Country Coach it had a pile of remotes but we were missing the most important one, the one to the DVD surround system made by Jambo made in Europe. So we had to get a Logitech Universal Remote from Best Buy and had the Geek Squad come out and program it, he was on the PC off and on for an hour down loading info. It controls everything (TV-DVD-VHS-Dish satellite-Am-Fm radio) works great and has it's own screen and a HELP button if you get into trouble.
