Not sure what comes standard in a Canyon Star, but we opted for a Sleep Number premier mattress and have loved every night on it. If I were to be picky it is 2nd to our Tempur-Pedic bed at home only because the home bed has power reclining...
If you get this make sure you get the one that has the memory foam on top, we were initially told that was only available on Ventana+ because of the 'radius' however when we informed Newmar that the bed was available in 'square' corners they agreed to put it in the coach.

Again, love it.

Our coach has a foam mattress that we LOVE!

Our previous coach, we put a 4" memory foam topper from Walmart on it. Made a WORLD of difference and saved us from buying a whole new mattress.

I just received a new custom memory foam mattress from Rocky Mountain Mattress for our Dutch Star.

Good customer service, shipped mattress to a campground and love how it sleeps!

Thank you for the info. How tall of a mattress did you go with? Looks like my standard is 8 inch tall

Mine is 7", it's just right for the nightstand in our Dutch Star. Here are the order notes from RMM:

7" Pomarelle Mattress w/gel infused - Custom Dims: 72" x 80" x 7"
2 radial corners at foot of bed @ 8"r
1- Miracle mattress protector "elastic fitted" Dims: 72" x 80" x 7" 2 radial corners at foot of bed 8"

Beds seem to be such a personal choice. One person will love it and the next will hate it.
With that said we are on our third mattress.
1st was the stock thin mattress old worn out and not comfy.
2nd Memory Foam Hated it lasted less than a year. Cost and reviews from others took us down this path.
3rd Sleep Number so far both myself and wide both like it. We can each have our own setting. Cost is about the highest option you can get but for us it was worth it.

As a side note we have had Sleep Number in our house for past 12 years so we kind of knew what we were getting on the third try.

We combine some of the recommendations above. Highly recommend a sleep number and get an aftermarket thin foam mattress. We did this on both our home and RV King mattresses.

Interesting about the thin foam mattress, our sleep number came with 2-4" (not there to measure at the moment) of memory foam. I think it was called a Sleep Number Premiere.
