Upgrading my 2018 MADP to a 2021 … here are my reasons. Your thoughts?
In going through the process of deciding whether to move up to a 2021 MADP I put together the following list of “reasons”. I’d be interested in your take or any builds to this list you may have
The outside Dometic Refrig/Freezer has 2 separate compartments instead of one big one
Splendide W/D instead of Whirlpool
Spartan Chassis with 5 yr warranty instead of just the 6 mos. remaining on the Freightliner
Cummins 5 yr warranty instead of the 2.5 year remaining on current rig
New Newmar 1 year warranty vs one that is expired
Push to start button
Digital Glass dash
Built in TPMS
Crisper/cleaner cockpit area
Mobile Eye
Improved Silverleaf user interface
Significantly improved lighting, shade and fan control interface
Dimming lights
Bigger TV’s
Kitchen window
Pull out island in galley
Bigger windows in salon and dinning area
Wireless phone chargers
Much bigger (10 in) auxiliary screens (vs 7 in) in cockpit
Upgraded sound bar(s)
All TVs are now smart 4k Samsung as opposed to Sony not so smart TVs
Theatre seating
Easier to clean A/C filters in ceiling
Nicer looking ceiling design
Tiled shower vs corian
Water miser in shower
CPAP facility in cabinet over bed
Bigger holding tanks

Looks good to EXCEPT for the built in TPMS. You will need to keep your old one as the new Valid system is miscommunicating with the dash and you get erroneous alarms. Everyone involved knows the problem but as yet no fix out. They will get it fixed but you may need to use your old system for a while. Besides, it’s likely time to empty the ashtrays and change the oil. [emoji2]. Of course I traded a 2019 for a 2020! [emoji2][emoji2]

The theatre seating is much more comfortable than recliners in our opinion. We'll designate that option on a new order. The water miser system has been awesome especially because we frequently camp without water hook-ups but with electric hook-up. The larger grey tank is also a big plus for us as well for the same reason.

I'd be interested in seeing your list of "cons" against making the change as well.

Judging by the list of pros, it looks like the decision is already made. [emoji3]
Not too many cons except price.
One precaution with water miser. If you keep your tank topped off it will overflow when the water recirculates to the tank

Not sure on the Spartan 5 year warranty. Spartan went to 5 years when Newmar owners were paying a up charge for the Spartan chassis. Entegra coach still have only 3 year warranty and all their coaches are on Spartan chassis. Our 18 London Aire only came with a 3 year warranty. The big issue with your FL chassis would be the fan drive assembly brackets breaking on your 18 MA. If you haven't had this recall done it would be smart to get this checked out before doing any trips in the 18 MA.

Seems like a lot of these are cosmetic issues, and some like the soundbars, TVs, outside refrigerator and W/D could be changed out in your current coach. A lot of money for (in my view) small changes. But if you can afford it and it makes you happy, go for it.

A big downside is you know your coach. You've fixed all the gremlins that come with new coaches. Do you want a year of chasing new ones?
Other than the bigger windows it's probably cheaper to do a major reno of your existing than trade for a new one. $$ wise anyway. More of a hassle to reno vs just trade. Money vs time always right?

OP's reply
Thanks guys for all the input. A few other points that I didn't mention is that we were looking at a different floor plan. Going from a 4531 to a 4543. Also going to a lighter wood and non-shiny ties. All stuff the wife wants.
A good point about the Gremlins. we have this coach working great (knock on wood).
The thought of a renovation is a possibility.
However, it may all be off as we just got a quote on making the change and the trade value on our current coach is just not acceptable. So we are looking at options like getting another dealer quote and possibly selling ourselves.
Thanks for the thoughts

According to spartan chassis, 2021 still has 5yr 75k warranty.

Depreciation, depreciation, depreciation. The most forgotten cost of a new rig.

Just like Spartan to add another 2 years to their warranty which now comes to 5 years and 75k miles. May not need that extra coverage but Spartan is there if needed.
