URGENT: Dustshield install

I've seen on here others getting the dust shield installed that had the Freightliner chassis. Can anybody respond on the labor time and charge for freightliner for this? The Orlando Freightliner shop is trying to tell me it's gonna be seven hours of labor to complete this install. They said if I can get a copy somebody else's invoice that they can review it and hopefully get it down less.

Dust shield

Brian, had it done at Truck Centers of Arkansas, a Freightliner dealer. Labor was $261.00.

WOW....They must have a one armed man doing it with a blindfold on for that amount of labor. This is unbelievable, several of us made them for about $50.00 and installed them for free and now Freightliner wants $700.00 in labor and what, another $600.00 in parts.

It would be cheaper to go to a sheet metal shop and have them make you one.

Remove the billboard (mud flap) and the dust is reduced at least 75%. After bending it beyond recognition in only 9 months, I removed it and voila....very little dust and the toad stays clean. Go figure.

Thanks guys, I ended up calling the Freightliner hotline & they advised our local Freightliner shop on how the install should go. Instantly it was adjusted from 7 hours to 3 hours! I try not to use this shop (Freightliner Orlando) even though they are a Oasis center & 5 min from my house as they have never been very accommodating or helpful when using in the past.

Example I asked them while there today if I just had my annual service (oil change, etc) done on my generator but have run it 150+ hours in last 10 days since (due to living in it with power out here) should I consider another oil change or service and there response was "look it up in your manual"!!

All other work will be done at my dealer as Independence RV is great, in this case though I had no choice.

Hi - Your book should say every 250 hours or annually, whichever comes first. (I'm assuming the 10 K generator).
