US Solar Replacement Pump for Oasis System
I just contacted US Solar Pumps to order a spare pump for my Oasis system.
I spoke to Mike and he told me they updated their website and have a new part number for the Oasis pump replacements.

Oasis pump
Can you tell me where this pump is made? I just paid 3 times that price to have one of mine replaced. That one was made in the USA.

It's my understanding that Mike has been using a manufacturing facility in China for over a decade with tremendous results.
What's funny, (or really not funny, ) is that most here that have an Oasis system have replaced at least one pump, including the newer design pump.

Looks like it has a 1/2 fitting. Isn't the heater hose for these 3/4"?

Installed one of these 2 days ago in a 40 ft DSDP.
The US Solar’s website gives a life expectancy of 20,000 hours. When I spoke to Mike he of course couldn’t promise anything but this was the 3rd replacement in 4.5 years. 2 SLP’s and now Zone 1. All other pumps came from ITR.
I have had both of ITR’s pumps installed for the SLP. The original with the fluted pump body and the newer, better one.
Original shorted and the first replacement broke the shaft. So I am hoping that if these give half of the expected use I’ll be happy. Except of course I’ve still got two of the old type in there. . Getting to old to keep crawling under there!
We are currently in FL and called Independence in Winter Garden to see if they had one. They did but it was just over $300.00. Their parts guy said they pay $275.00 from Newmar. So they are basically just covering the cost of their part and freight to get it to FL.
Don’t get me wrong, I love ITR’s support but those pumps are not very robust.
John

Funny, I just ordered an annual service kit yesterday from Randy at ITR. I asked him if I need to carry a spare pump and he said the new ones rarely fail so I did not order one! Hope I don't find out I need one until its too late. He also mentioned that for people like me who live in the southwest, that we don't need to do the annual service every 12 months but go every 18 months instead if we don't use the burner on a frequent basis. He also said it's important if you don't use your coach for extended periods to exercise the system every now and then by turning on the burner.

Thanks for the post I will be ordering 2 of them. My heat zone pumps required a helping hand to get them running for this winter season, been running fine for last 3 months. I do have one spare with me. Don't know if 1563 hours on unit is a lot but only replaced one pump so far. Did one annual service and one 5 years service in 12 years.

US Solar Replacement Pump for Oasis System
I forgot to mention that when I did the Zone 1 replacement the check valve on the outlet of the pump didn’t close completely. Had to grab another vice grips and clamp off the hose.
Lost probably 6-8 oz of fluid. We flipped the bypass switch a couple of times to help make sure the pump didn’t run dry or away. If run dry they can burn out or pop the fuse. So if you lose some of the fluid be careful when you start up.

So running the bypass runs both zone pumps? So does that help fill all the lines again?
Thanks

This is from section 2.3 of the Oasis Service & Troubleshooting Manual:
Quote:
The bypass jumper (activated via a switch mounted on the top of the distribution module zone board) can be used in conjunction with a purge pump to initially fill the system with coolant. When this jumper is activated, the Loop 1 and Loop 2 pumps turn on and push coolant through the entire system. Once the system is filled and purged of air, the bypass switch must be turned OFF.
