nice mod on the check valve... so you have the part number for the Sharkbite check valve??

For anyone who does not understand the purpose of the vacuum breaker. When you rinse the black tank the proper way is to hook a short hose such as a washing machine hose to the rinse inet and then hook a supply hose to that short hose. Rinse the tank however long you desire, then shut the water off, unhook the short hose from the supply line and let it drain on the ground. The vacuum breaker allows the supply side to drain out on the ground and the tank side of the rinse hose to drain into the black tank. This makes sure there can be no cross contamination of the fresh water supply. To circumvent this process in any way is chancing contamination of not only your fresh water supply but everyone else's too. Not a game I would play.

For anyone that doesn't understand the purpose of a One Way Check Valve verses a Vacuum Breaker Valve:

One way check valve only allows water to flow BACK INTO the black tank, no water comes back to the supply hose.

A Vacuum Valve allows water to flow back into the black tank and also BACK INTO the water supply.
That's why Newmar has a ONE WAY check valve at the supply inlet.

Only down side to installing a One way check valve is for winterizing. But normally you still feed into the flush line anyway with your winterizing fluid.

Best answer following the kiss principle.

I only drain my tanks when they have a lot of water in them. First the black and then the grey water flushes the hose.
