Using rooftop antenna, can't get it to "turn on"

My brother has a 17 Canyon Star 3953 and I am trying to help him with his new rig and going through all of the various items, how to turn on, etc. Certainly not at the top of the list is the tvs but still a question.

On my rig, a Tiffin, I have a switch for the rooftop antenna. In order to get over the air tv the antenna has to be "switched" on, then search for stations, etc.

We have raised his antenna, pointed it in the direction we think is correct, switched the tv to over the air input, searched stations and nothing. I confirmed stations are available in our location because my coach is next door and receives stations.

It has to be the Winegard switch for the antenna that we can't locate. Any help appreciated.

Look down on the passenger sidewall behind the co-pilots seat. There should be a wall plate with a power switch on it.

Happy Trails

There is not always any switch. The Dutch Star has a Winegard front/rear TV antenna switch box in the upper compartment over the driver that provides power to the antenna so I would look for something like that and make sure it has power. Look for the antenna coax that comes into the coach and find what it connects to. There is also a signal strength meter that provides power that you could have. If all else fails you can always connect a power inserter to the antenna coax, plug 12 volts into it and connect the TV to that. A power inserter is just a splitter that passes power on one side although you can get fancier ones that have a built in power supply.

Capt. Bill, you are the man. If one didn't know what to look for, not sure one would find it, lol. Got it up and running and works perfectly. I am so impressed by Newmar and the way all the electronics are organized.
