valor tire monitoring system

I have a 2020 London Aire. I am not happy with the tire monitoring system that came with the coach. I have run TST in all my past MH's and am very happy with their system. Does anyone know how to disable the Valor tire monitoring system so that it does not show up on the dash. I am on a Spartan chassis. Thanks for your responses!!

You can go to the bay under the driver side window. Look at the top right on the back wall and you will see the Valor module. Unplug the 4 pin connector on that and it should take off all the readings. It will still show up on the display but just with no information.

I couldn’t run to my coach quickly enough after reading your post, Bobby. Thanks!

It is a shame that they have not come up with an upgrade path to Valor Gen III. I read and feel all the pain for so many owner with the Gen I systems.

What are the issues? Drop outs? Inaccuracy? Access to parameters without the programming tool? Not sure which version I have yet.

Thanks,

Paul

All the above. You should have the same generation as me.

The final straw for me came this summer when I realized the duals and tag were set to alarm if the tire pressure reached 100 psi. Which genius decided that was appropriate?

Want to change parameters? Spend more money on Valor products.

My gen 1 works well so far, but I did buy the tool so I could adjust base lines. I hooked up with a buddy and we split the cost.

Taking mine back to Freightliner again Monday. Been back 5 times. Waiting to see how they fix this poor design. Starts fine, but after about 2 hrs, all the wheels drop.

Well, I fired up the coach and discovered after a minute or two I’m getting a screaming yellow banner that says TPMS Comm Failure or some such.

I’ll fall back to my original plan of having Gaffney delete the damned thing when I’m there next month.

If you are getting that error then unplug the small antenna attached to the top and that will stop the communication with the sensor. See if it just gives you the dashes and no warning then. They must have programmed the ecm to see it missing.

Has any one tried to upgrade the Gen 3? I emailed Valor but not response yet.

I have kept up with all the Valor posts here and on Facebook Dutch Star group for the last year. I have not heard anyone suggesting or attempting it. It probably has something to do with the version of Freightliner software built into the chassis.

I would imagine you could install new tire sensors, pull new wires for new antennas and other hardware. But if the Freightliner software is not compatible or upgradable that would be a show-stopper.

Purely guessing here.
