Valor TPMS Failure survey

I have been reading for a while about people having issues with Valor TPMS which is included on many Freightliner and Spartan chassis.

My personal experience is that the outer drive wheels will lose communication driving at highway speeds, but reconnect once I exit the highway.

Sometimes they will connect while driving highway speeds, but not for long

The tag axle remains working, as do my toad tires.

Has anyone added an additional sensor to the rear, moving them far left and right ?

Has anyone else noticed this same trend, or another reproducible failure?

Red, I was having the same issue until they added another transmitter/ antenna at the rear of the coach.
All has been good since then.

So you have 2 in the rear now? Do you know how they are oriented?

Where did you have the work done?

I talked to Dave at Spartan and he referred me to Velocity Truck Center in Chandler Arizona. They installed the additional one on the driver side between the tag and drive axle
Spartan sent it to Velocity in time for my appointment which was awesome.

Tech said this was the first time he ever installed a second transmitter. The repair is usually a reprogramming procedure and a lot of time wasted.

Granite 17 had good luck with this repair to the last I spoke with him.

Hope this helps.

Thanks! I have forwarded this information to my dealer. This would be an easy fix.

I had a sensor installed by Dealer in February. It didn't fix the problem. I keep on losing the rear Drives could be on either side or both. This is very intermittent; they both go in and out.
I have a September appointment with Spartan, I am going to have them look at this.

I lose the right rear drive intermittently, it is my intention to add another transmitter at some point. I have also read that monkeying around with the direction of antenna can solve the issue. I have not investigated that yet.

Ronnie, NIRVC added an additional transmitter to mine when I was in for maintenance last month. Works great now. It was the driver’s outside tag I always had problems keeping connected.

Which location did this? Who was your service writer?

I gave Eddie the information on this and they were going to look into it. If they have already done one, that should help a lot!

Thanks.

Up in Canada now on a long adventure. I have had many TPMS issues from day on and still do. I will lose one to all readings. Over temp alarms as well. Works fine first thing in the morning when we leave and starts to act up as we travel. I received a recall on these from FL and will take it in for 3 pending recalls when I returned at the end of June. I have complained about this during two previous visits to FL as well.

After about 4 days and 3 "reprogrammings" at the dealer on our 2020 MA Freightliner I gave up. Any idea where I can purchase another antenna/receiver and if like most other systems might be a simple install. Have about 12K of trips planned between now and end of September, sure would be nice to know the TPM actually works... TIA

redbaron73 ... following this as well. Hope you and NIRVC Dallas get it figured out so I can give my service writer at NIRVC Atlanta the scope when I take mine in.
