Valve Stem Hose Extension Issue

I have to say that I am a bit disappointed in this discovery. I checked the tire pressures on our less than two month old Bay Star and found that the left inside tire was extremely low. I tried putting air in the tire and I could hear air leaking from the stem area. I found that the extension hose on the valve stem was loose but when I tightened it, it would no longer allow air to go into the tire. I gave up and had dually valves installed because the thought of trusting a piece of rubber hose for air pressure in the tires bothered me. All is well now.

Unfortunately the braided rubber stems seem to leak. Many members say they are a disaster waiting to happen. I also went to truck stems with the Canyon Star after my leak. Thankfully I had a TPMS to alert me of the slow leak.

I am just thankful that I found the problem before a trip rather than during.

I remember having to replace the extensions that came on my BSS as they would not consistently let air in.
