Ventana 3434 and a toad ???

Last month I placed an order for a Ventana 3434 and expect delivery within the next 4-6 weeks, so I'm looking for towing solutions. If I go with an air force one type of a system, curious as to what type of modification will need to be made to the RV. Do we need to tap into any air lines or other connection??etc???

Thanks in advance

Las

We have a 3434 and had Air Force One installed last spring. They tapped into the air line on the coach but I couldn't repeat everything they explained to us. Not that it was bad; I just can't remember.

I really like the AF1 over the other system we used with a box on the floor of our tow car. Our box locked up the brakes one summer and started a fire. Almost lost the car and the coach. Thank goodness for fire extinguishers.

The AF1 system is so easy to hook up.

The Air Force One has 2 air tie ins to the coach.
1. Is air for the ping tank.
2. Is the metered air from the brakes. This tells how much braking force is being applied.

Thanks for all of the input. Since I'll be at Good Sam's in Daytona this weekend, I should be able to pick up some brochures and detail about how the system in installed and activates.

Only thing left is which one of the 3 cars I should replace for a toad.

lass, here's a site that might explain it better than I can.

AIR FORCE ONE | SMI Manufacturing Inc.

Lass --

We had Air Force One installed on our 2011 Ventana 3433 and tow our 2012 Honda CR-V AWD. Great system. No problems. You will be very pleased. It has been seamless -- and flawless.

Have it installed. Best to have it done professionally so that there are no worries after the fact.

We just ordered a 2013 Dutch Star 4018 and will look forward to using the Air Force One on it as part of our deal with the dealer.

Good luck!

Deek

Agree with Seek. Have a professional install it. We have it and its a great system. I imagine when I trade dinghy it will cost some to switch over.

We have the RoadMaster BrakeMaster unit. I tied into the brake system at the distribution block for the rear axle. No problems, but Spartan does have a special kit for it that includes safety features to protect the RV's brakes from loss of air. It's about $500 plus installation.

The SMI Airforce 1 includes the content of the Spartan kit.

I appreciate all of the great advice and when I get to Daytona tomorrow, I'll pick up some of the SMI brochures. Agree that the installation should be done by a professional and will check around in the Tampa area.
