Ventana 3709 vs Ventana LE 3709?

What is the differences for the Ventana to be $35,000+- more?

Lots of small differences that add up. The Ventana has a little more power/torque, heavier chassis and higher GVWR, twice the NCC, and a much higher towing capacity, and it runs on 22.5" wheels. I also found the interior finishes to be a bit higher. The LE is a very nice coach, but we decided we preferred the Ventana for those reasons.

If you plan to tow, be sure to look at the difference between the GVWR & GCWR on the LE. It is much lower than on the Ventana.

That 2000 pounds is not much to deal with. I will be towing my Equinox, so it may not be that big of a deal. I have been looking a used models, but I am thinking a new LE may be swingable. But I do not want to be where I have to worry about weights all the time.

Surely the LE 3709 has more CCC than the Allegro 31SA that I have now. I do not see how or why I would ever pack more than I have with it.

There were some nice features on the Ventana, however we decided that for the use of our money, the LE was just fine! We pull a Chevy Sonic - 2800 pounds, we carry only stuff we need and use. So any extra carrying capacity was not a concern. We would have liked the induction cooktop but they would not factory do that on the LE.

And, most importantly, I was able to convince my wife to spend for LE and not for Ventana!

Delivery is early to mid December.

Sorry for being blatantly self serving on this post, but....If you're looking for a good deal on a very lightly used LE, check out our coach on RVTrader. Ad number is 119980440. Always stored indoors. Have new DS coming in January, so there is a little wiggle room in the pricing.

Having an induction cooktop was something that I did not want. I want a propane cooktop. Not having the propane cooktop availabiity turned me away from several brands. I don't want fancy and shiny, but durable. I am assuming the Ventana has ceramic tile in place of vinyl which is just fine with us. My wife loves the vinyl planks.

I had my 31SA weighed on four corners when it had the most stuff we would have ever carried. I was 800 pounds under my CCC of 2,200 pounds. I even had firewood. We also do not want the washer/dryer which weighs a lot.

I am researching early for a possible purchase in 2018 when the wife starts getting her SS.

Would it be safe to assume that any Freightliner chassis with the 340hp may have CCC issues no matter what brand?

Every one I have seen has been limited on ccc. I have 2800 ccc on my toy hauler and we have been right at it several times....no way a 2000ccc coach would work for our camping:(

We currently have a 2013 Ventana LE 34'. I can say that it's load capacity is the best we have ever had on a motorhome. When we load it for travel (which is probably around 1500 pounds), plus full water tank, and towing a 2800 pound car, the total weight INCLUDING the toad, is 1000 pounds UNDER our GVWR for the coach alone.

I see where my confusion comes from. Our 34' Venana LE had an NCC of 5300 pounds, which is higher than any coach we have had. I notice though that the 37' units have an NCC 2000 pounds less. Since you are talking about a 37' unit, I now understand your concern.

I am surprised that the LE 3709 NCC is about the same as the Canyon Star models. Surely the LE would be more capable of towing our Equinox than the CS would. I am wanting to see some actual CCC weights posted before I write on the LE. As previously posted our 31SA had a CCC of 2200+- and when we had it weighed fully loaded we about 800 lbs left.

I am mainly looking to get more power for going up hill and more braking for coming downhill when we take trips out West.

I too was looking at a DP for torque going up & braking coming down. I was very surprised at the towing capacity when I ran the numbers on the 3412 LE. When the 3412 LE was loaded with modest cargo, two passengers, fuel, water, propane & NO OPTIONS, a 4500# toad would exceed the GCWR by 170#. Running solo there was plenty of capacity left. Add a 4500# toad & it was overweight. Again this is with no options. I think this is due to the fact that the construction creates a heavy coach & the 2500MH transmission can not handle a heavy coach & tow much at the same time. Because of this I began looking at the non LE Ventana.
