Ventana 4037, 6.7L or 8.9L???
I am looking at a 2016 or 2017 Ventana 4037 and trying to decide which way to go engine-wise. Does the 6.7 have the torque to get you up the mountains at decent speed? I had a 6.7 in my Tiffin and an 8.9 in my Fleetwood. I liked the 8.9 better, but the mileage was a couple mpg less.

Glad to have you here in the forum with us. You're gonna like it here. 
It seems that most diesels get about the same MPG 7-7.5 Sure there may be others getting better or worse, but it's usually because of driving habits and speed driven. If you're planning trip where you be spending time in mountainous areas you'll appreciate the 8.9.

Who doesn't like to maximize mileage, but charging up a 6-7% grade at 60 sure is nice too.

Engine brake over exhaust brake any day. Go with the ISL

The formula is nothing over 100 lbs per horse power . If your ratio is over that you will have mountain problems
