Ventana Dash AC

I was using the dash AC on a recent trip and the AC was very cold so I turned it off. Parked for the night and went to use the dash AC the next morning and the air wasn't cold. I found a ground broken under the AC box above the generator, but that didn't change anything. The Newmar techs at the FMCA rally didn't have any idea other than to tell me to charge the freon. Where is the compressor and is there a belt that may have broken? Also which fitting is used to add freon?

So do you add freon at the fitting in photo 1 or photo 2?

Hi Gatoratty,
The right hand photo is where the A/C gas goes in. Do not worry about putting it in the wrong place. If you buy the kit from a retailer (like Walmart) the fitting will only go in the correct receptacle. Have a guage. Don't put too much in. That is as bad as not enough.

If your AC was very cold on your trip why would you want to add more coolant.
You said you had a wire problem, you can find all EVAN's info in QT's # 3 with trouble shooting info.

I had checked my valve, added freon, etc. This morning I was under the coach and saw a hose hanging down. The AC hose was either chewed or broke and then got torn up. So new hose installed and recharge looks to be the fix. [ATTACH]200085
