Ventana LE 3436

I have a 2016 LE 3436 and the chassis batteries are dying if I let it sit for a week or more. Where is the battery disconnect switch for the chassis bank?

I would assume you can't stay hooked up to shore power to keep your house batteries charged while in storage? If this is not the case and you can be hooked to shore power it will keep your house and chassis batteries charged while sitting. If not you could always use a battery charger I would assume to keep juice to your chassis batteries. I don't have a Ventana but a DS 3724 and I would think the battery disconnect is in the same place as mine on the passenger rear last cargo area that has the battery bank. It's a red dial that says disconnect I think. Hope this helps and safe travels.

If parked outside there is a trickle charging solar panel on the roof ( small) You should hook an external charger to the chassis battery then when full charged have it load tested ( possibly remove it and thane it to large auto parts store for test) May have a bad cell. The other possibility is that you have something drawing power with the key off ex: brake light staying on etc. no shout off for chassis battery that I know of.

I have a '15 Ventana 3636. The chassis battery disconnect switch on my coach is the red switch located to the right and above of the chassis batteries (last bay on the door side of the coach).

There is always 'some' drain on both the house and chassis batteries, even when the house battery disconnect switch is activated, (on ours, a 2015 VLDP 3436, it is above and in front of the copilot seat with the slide and other switches). We have no hard disconnect switches in either of the battery compartments. In the NW our solar trickle charger on the roof is not affective enough to keep anything charged.

Thanks

Thanks for everyone's input. Something is causing the batteries to die because yesterday was only 4 days since we started it last. That doesn't seem right at all so I have an appointment at Freightliner to test the batteries and diagnose the problem. Hopefully they can figure it out.

We're in a position to connect trickle chargers to the chassis and coach batteries so we do. But we also flip the main breakers off, make sure the inverter is off, and hit the battery disconnect too.

Well isn't this topic timely, the Chassis batteries in my 13 3434 took a dive last week without warning. My coach is always plugged in, do the chassis batteries really charge while plugged in? Does the inverter have 2 charge circuits or how does this work. Which brand of batteries are you guys using to replace?

1) Both battery banks charge when I am plugged in. 2) Do not know how the inverter works. 3) Replaced the house batteries with Interstate batteries, the chassis batteries are still the original.

Freightliner visit

I went to freightliner yesterday and had them test the chassis batteries. They tested fine. They said I should be plugged in and even though we don't have a 50 amp outlet we can still keep the batteries charged using 110. I went to camping world and got the adapters for 110. Freightliner said bring the the amps down to 15 on the inverter charger and it should work fine keeping both batteries charged. Worth a try. Also check the water levels on the batteries once a month.
