Ventana LE shower faucet plugged

So I tried taking a shower the other day and the wand barely dripped water. Took the head off and no water in the hose. Took the hose off and has what looks like a restricter plug with a small hole. Water would stream out that hole in a fine mist. I could not dislodge it out if it does come out at all. I'm thinking there is a screen somewhere under there. Any thoughts?

Will that black plug or pipe fitting screw out of faucet housing, maybe a screen as you say and the screen needs to be cleaned.

I just took the plug out with my knife; it just flipped out and under it is a black rubber back-flo preventer. I removed it as well lots of water pressure now.

Update: I did try and dislodge a restricter plug to no avail. So I did the next best thing and stuck a screwdriver in the hole and spun it around and sure enough it blew the faucet out. Not a preferred fix but anymore prying and I would have busted the faucet.
