I completely didn't think past my nose. Good point, I should think of climate in 2027+. I'll need space suit storage. Need more closets and outlets.

OK, folks..."break time" is over! Back to Ventana vs Dutch Star...or, was it Dutch Star vs Mountain Aire...I forgot.
Gotta live up to Neal's expectations as an "enforcer," you know.

We got so far off the beaten path before Deputy TJ stepped in they'll have to send a search party.

I currently have that option on my NA, I just call it my wife! Ok before everyone goes ballistic I am just joking. It would be much cheaper to just pay to have it washed.

Don't worry abou.t "everyone go[ing] ballistic;" worry about your wife reading this! There's "ballistic" and there's "BALLISTIC."

We are talking about the strip of carpet, which depending on the floorplan and options, can result in more or less carpet.
Take my layout with the rollaway dinette and corner TV/Fireplace, I have quite a bit of carpet.

Even though our Ventana gets to building 7 at the end of the month, DW and I were talking about the 'more floor' and she actually said she likes the breakup the carpet provide. IMO the piece of carpet is not as important as the new slide mechanism. I am assuming (I have no knowledge) that the new FWS doesn't require floor protectors. In our Canyon Star, Newmar had no floor protectors and as such I made my own out of Vinyl backed carpet strips. We have the laminate in the coach and the rollers would make it when underway.
So if floor protectors are not needed in the DS with 'more floor' that could be a deciding factor in the Ventana Vs. Dutchstar decision, for us it was availability and cost.

It is true that my DS 4369 with FWS has rollers that don’t contact the floor . The kitchen and bedroom slides have rollers that contact the floor.

Lol at the past page and a half of greatness. I'm telling you guys Newmar better implement some of this stuff the experts are suggesting. for 2027 models! Don't mind the carpet personally but have no pets..

Additional Considerations?
Appreciate many of the comments. Would like to add some features for consideration that we appreciate on our Ventana. - Comfort Steer - with the wide variation in road camber, constant wind vs road direction differential, semi-trucks passing, etc., Comfort Steer really takes quite a bit of micro-adjustments out of the equation, allowing confidence to drive further without neck & shoulder fatigue
- Tag Axle - the additional rear tire patch, working in partnership with Comfort Steer, seems to give the feeling that the rig is always planted and will go where you point it
- Rear bathroom emergency exit door w/integral deployable ladder - a feature introduced after we bought our rig. If considering new vs previously owned, may be a consideration of how back in years one may want to consider. Heaven forbid a family would need this, but I shudder to think what it would be like to try to shinny through the mandated window over the base cabinet in the bedroom. Especially if anyone has orthopaedic or mobility issues, the drop to the ground, either head-first or feet-first is gonna be a bummer
- Rear vs Side Radiator - I appreciate the incremental storage associated with the rear radiator. Keeping the engine-driven cooling fan >2000 rpm has been successful for us in managing coolant temp on long grades here in the hot Southwest
- 40' vs 43' - Newmar is continually improving how they package and layout features on the floorplans. I especially appreciate how they've improved the pantry width in the kitchen, and made the width of the shower (with seat for the Boss) is really impressive in the incremental 3'
In summary, I really appreciate and support previous comments that each of us is able to evaluate our resources and lifestyle, and each of us payz our money and pikx our rig - the invisible hand of capitalism, Adam Smith would be proud. I've lived and traveled for bizzness overseas, and I laugh at their choices available and the roads that must be traveled, with their RVs. The width vs height proportion makes them look like toasters . We have a lot of great alternatives in 'murika. Wishing everyone all and only the best in your evaluation and selection. See ya at a NKK event!

Okay. I guess when we looked at both I just didn't really notice that much difference if the VT came with the full tile option in master.
