Jan ; I had to remove the seats and throttle pedal , level the floor and use longer bolts to secure the pedal .
I went 4'9" back and transitioned back to carpet with 1'X2' Vinyl tiles , to keep the transition ahead of the slide flange and rollers ; still working on a plan to remove the rest of the carpet .
Took the carpet off the step cover and step well too.

Well , why 4'9" back from the firewall you ask .

Simple 5' put the transition back to carpet ; already said that , 4'6" put the transition under the passenger seat pedestal and 4' was under the drivers .
4'9' made for more cutting but I used up the rest in the step well.

Started with the tiles at the top of the stair well , that put the edge of the forth row at the side of the steering column floor boot, and made the cut out for the foot valve easier . red arrow in picture .
A note , years ago I noticed that the drivers seat was not centered to the steering wheel , I believe this was done for clearance to the slide flange with the power seat was fully moved to the rear , that was not really required , so I re-drilled the pedestal to move the seat , the off set was bothering my shoulder on long drives. re-drill shows in one picture. You'll have the seats out so you can decide if the mod is necessary.
Both seats had sunk into the sub floor so have leveler compound handy , and 1/2" plywood to level the throttle pedal, longer lag bolts to re-mount.

Does the carpet cover the storage compartment? And how did you level the floor in the drivers area?

Doug , I'm not sure what storage compartment you're asking about .
Could be your coach has something different than my diesel pusher .

The product I used to level the floor for tile installation was a product used to level sub flooring in residential flooring installation . I'll see if I still have any of the product left , for a name .
Under the throttle pedal , after the pedal was removed , I made a cardboard template for the recess and cut some 1/2 plywood to raise the area to the rest of the subfloor.

EDIT: Carpet in photo #4 in Post #3 is a throw rug , for wiping off shoes at the top of the stairs . Original carpet in that area was threadbare. Tile fully covers the area under the rug.
