Want to go to lithium batteries for coach. A couple of questions

So, title says it all. Here's my concern. Lithium batteries can destroy a alternator so a special charger is required. My thoughts are to purchase a DC to DC charger that will charge lithium batteries from chassis batteries when the alternator is charging. This charger will isolate the alternator from overcharging the lithium batteries and keep them in a floating state.

I can see it working fine except the bird system may be in play. As I understand it the bird will link both coach and chassis batteries if one set discharged. I'm afraid of installing lithium with the bird system still operational. I don't want any chance of the bird bridging the batteries when travelling down the road.

Short of disabling the bird system is there a solution to this issue? Can lithium batteries be paralleled with wet batteries and not have any danger of damage?

I would like to keep the emergency start feature if possible just in case chassis batteries go down and I need the lithium to start.

Hope this makes sense.

Edit to add: This is in a '04 DSDP 4024

You will need disable the BIRD system, but the actual isolation solenoid can still be wired to be activated by the dash switch.

The other way of achieving this is a LI-BIM225, made for lithium battery charging.

It will replace your BIRD system and not need a batt. to batt. charger.
The Batt. to Batt. charger limits your charging to something like 25 amps, while the BIM 225 doesn't. It allows full charging, but limits the time that the alternator works hard, letting it have cool down cycles.
