Wanting to change seating arrangement in 2019 4018 Dutch Star

We purchased our 4018 almost new and love it but due to my wife’s back, we need to change out one of the couches for two recliners. We want it to look like it would have from the factory and wondering if any of you have done this and what all is required to make the change. I assume it is the larger couch with the mattress that needs to go as the tv is be hind the jackknife sofa. Thanks, David

I removed the sleeper sofa in my full wall slide & replaced with a sofa that reclines same as recliners. We already removed the love seat in front of the TV years ago & had a fireplace installed so I wanted to maintain 3 seating positions. Newmar did love seat/fireplace work when the coach was new but I did the sofa change out last winter. Don't know if you are a DIYer but it is VERY easy. Sleeper sofa disassembles and can be removed in manageable pieces. Of course, it's fastened to floor but it's only in with maybe 10 sheet rock type screws. Easy removal. The new recliners will go in likely in manageable pieces as well and simply screw into the floor. There is already a plug behind the sofa that the air mattress in plugged into all set up for recliners. https://www.braddandhall.com/product...SAAEgKUDfD_BwE is also a good place to shop. Question, does your sofa meet a euro dinette or table & chairs?

Brad and Hall.
They can match the factory material and colors perfectly or custom color and material of your choice.
Replaced the sofa with theater seats and also both captains chairs in my ‘14 DS.
We went with an upgrade material and changed colors.
Since my original seats were not damaged, I was able to sell them to recoup some of the cost.
They also do cabinet remodeling that will match the factory.

Could you plesae tell me who it is that can match the colors. Are the theater seats the same width as the sleeper sofa. I haven’t yet tried to see what is under and behind the sofa. Thanks Brad

Our sleeper sofa abuts the Euro dinette. What woud be a fair price for the sleeper sofa. It has seen little use and the bed function has never been dused.

You need to measure your old unit and shop for the same or close to same size replacement.

Newmar Recliners

Our 2022 Bay Star came with the 84 inch couch fold out bed. In 2024 we replaced it with two very nice recliners that would have come with the coach if we originally ordered them. I found them on line, showed the picture to the service writer at the RV dealer, took about 6 weeks and look and work great. Fit the vacated space perfectly. Side by side with console between chairs with storage and cup holders. Recliner mechanism is mechanical not electric but sure they can be found. Ours can open almost to the prone position. Good Luck.

I have no idea on selling the old sleeper. Question, does your sofa/euro dinette look similar to below? When I removed my sofa the concealed side of the dinette was not finished. No issue for me as I was removing that as well. Below is old pic of my j-lounge/dinette & what I replaced it with.

There are literally hundreds, maybe thousands, of posts on doing this. Do a search and you’ll be overwhelmed with photos, recommendations and reviews. Bottom line is that it’s entirely doable. Using exact factory products will be the most costly approach and most folks opt for a bit more personalization but the choice is yours.

The hidden side of our dinette was finished but the recliners snugged up to it so if it wasn't would be no issue. As far as what to do with the fold out sofa, it went to my son's guest room. Must be a market for a leather fold out sofas, to buy the new, it's several thousands of dollars new.

I replaced the sofa behind the drivers seat with theater seats from Bradd and Hall. They will match whatever material you want. I had ours done in real ultraleather, not the cheap junk Newmar provided. I also recovered all the rest of the upholstered items at the same time.
The seats come in pieces that literally snap together so it's easy to get them in the RV. The seat have to be spaced out a few inches from the wall, so you do loose a bit of room to walk when the slides are in, but it's stil doable.

Lucky you’re in Oregon! We just replaced all our furniture in 2024. Contact Countryside Interiors in Junction City, highly recommend them! Long time family business, large showroom, good relationships with all the manufacturers and they will install.
