Washing Machine drain plug

Can someone tell me where the outside drain plug for washing machine is located. Just bought our 2018 DS 4018 3 days ago (finally) and landed in Mesa Verde Nat’l Park. Want to wash some clothes. Sticker on washing machine reads, “ Remove outside drain cap before using....”
Thanks

I think the machine installers at the factory fail to remove the label. We had same thing on ours. Many have commented on this forum before. You should be good to go

Had the same sticker on mine also. I don't know why the installer didn't remove it.
As stated above, you should be good to go.

The sticker is referring to your grey water holding tank valve. just make sure it is open when your using washing machine

Yes, that’s what I understood too. Here’s a question: Why? So long as the gray tank has adequate capacity (with reserve) why not wash with the valve closed? We have on occasion, with no noticeable negative consequences.

If your gray tank has room there is no need to have the valve open. I would suggest you check tank level before you start

We routinely run with the grey valve closed, but check the tank level before starting a new load. I dump the grey after it reaches 2/3’s full and before the next washer load. From an empty grey tank, we can easily do three loads before having to dump the tank.

We just about flooded ours because the grey valve was closed. Always check your level before operating if you choose to keep the valve closed!!

If your grey tank is empty then there's no need to open it. If you just think there's enough capacity, and there's not, you'll have a nice flood to clean up.

My question is other than boondocking why would you want to keep the grey tank closed?

Why Grey Valve Closed other than boondocking? I have a Sanicon system. It only comes out when I plan on using it. If I used the traditional Stinky Slinky, depending on when I plan on dumping the black tank (greater than 2/3’s full) I would probably keep the grey valve shut just to have enough grey water in the tank to chase the black tank effluent down the hose.

I agree with those that say to watch your grey tank level if keeping the grey valve closed. Folks next to us had quite a mess in their hands when washing clothes and not paying attention. Grey Water came rushing up from their shower drain(the low point) and flooded their bathroom.

Just remember that washing machine can use as much as 17 gallons per load.

Prevent sewer flies from entering the tank?

Prevent sewer gasses from venting up your RV vent when neighbors dump. Also leaving open can cause accumulation of food, grease etc on the sides of your tank.
