Washing machine spin and shake
2nd week in our new DS 4018 My wife is worried about the noticeable "shake" of our coach when washer goes into spin cycle. To me, it's a non-event, but thought I'd ask out here.
Anyone else notice this? is it normal?

We have a Splendide combo unit on out boat. If the drum contents are heavy and unbalanced the shake can be terrifying. As a result we don't wash heavy items in it, and save those for a laundry. Such is life.

Our 4018 shakes as well when the spin cycle kicks in. We consider it normal.

Totally normal. Kinda reminds me of the earthquakes we have here in California

its amplified because the washer is oriented perpendicular to the long axis of the coach, and then further so as it is located well behind the rear stabilizer jacks and tag axle.......my coach also can shake pretty good when it runs....
a closer to mid ship washer, oriented parallel to the long axis of the coach, would create a far more stable high speed spin cycle....
but that, of course, would create a significant design obstacle for so many other things....
there are floorplans out there like that, though....

On our first trip after buying our coach my wife put in a load of clothes while I was sitting in the recliner mid-ships reading. The spin cycle started and I was convinced we were have in an earthquake. Jumped up, noticed an overhead cabinet door open, shut it and started looking around for an exit strategy - if that even made sense.
It is quite noticeable and very harmless. Your coach endures much worse raising and lowering the jacks or going over speedbumps at an angle. I smile every time we use the dryer now when the shaking starts.
BTW - I HATE speedbumps that are at an angle to direction of travel - You almost can't go slow enough to avoid severe side to side shaking and cabinet content rearrangement.

Used our combo last summer several times a week while work-camping. Shaking is normal.

I was able to calm ours down a bit by locking the top to the side cabinets ours is installed in.
Basically I placed a board over the top with some antislip material and then fastened the board to the sides of the cabinet while applying downward pressure.

There have been reports in this forum of washing machines being installed with the shipping bolts still in place. Once the bolts are removed all is well.
Our Splendide 2100xc only shaked occasionally when it has a off centered load, but it usually smooths out after a few seconds. Usually I only hear a whirr of the drum spinning.

Our Ventana LE does the shake and roll and I am glad this question was asked. I have the Whirlpool models.
Our Yorkie does not like it. Her ears will perk up and twitch every time and she will walk toward us.

I have packed the sides of the machine with those pillows that Newmar supplied (since we prefer to use our own on the bed). Damps the movement of the washer and makes it quieter.
