Waste Master Cam Lock Sewer Hose Modification

I wanted to use the Lippert Waste Master System on our new Dutch Star 4018, but it doesn't have enough room in the wet bay to accommodate their Cam Loc adaptor. You could get it in there, but then wouldn't be able to make the turn down and out through the floor.

After discussing a number of options with my Newmar tech, we decided to plumb our way through the floor using rigid ABS and terminate just below the wet bay floor with the WM Cam Loc.

The screw in access cover was drilled out to provide a snug fit fir the exiting pipe, which I may seal later.

The terminal end of the system is not as low as the neighboring Oasis exhaust, so it hasn't compromised clearance.

As an added bonus, the primary hose w/valve head and a 20' extension all fit in the new, larger hose bay.

Very good upgrade. My RV came with a Thetford system that was not nearly as good as the Waste Master. I replaced mine with a 28 foot Waste Master system and am very favorably impressed. The hose is very high quality and smooth on the inside with no ridges for "stuff" to hang up in. The 28 foot hose compresses enough to fit in the PVC storage tunnel that passes through the MH.

Thanks for answering that question. I always wondered about that on the new coaches.

It's a minor change by Newmar, but a major improvement to convenience.

I just took delivery of a 2016 Dutch Star 4018 and this looks like a great way to handle the dirty deed. Just curious what the yellow item is to the left in the wet bay?

Looks like a flashlight or drill.

Hawgguy is right, it's a flashlight!

Capt. Kirk, thanks so much for the post and the great photos! I made this change to a Mobile Suites fifth wheel and I loved the upgrade. I intend to make this upgrade to a 2017 Dutch Star, which we'll be purchasing soon. This along with the lack of a surge suppressor are two thing that I can't believe Newmar is not adding to their new builds. The industry is very slow to adapt!

The way my Dutch Aire is plumbed, sewer connection is below floor of wet Bay Area. I added Waste Master system and recommend it too. I didn't have new sewer hose storage system like new coaches so I added a tube with box to store underneath coach.

The mod looks great. My only concern would be the loss of ground clearance.

Glad you found it helpful.

It's been in continuous use for 9 months now and I'm really pleased with how well it has worked. I also carry the Waste Master extension hose and have used it 2-3 times out of about 60 connections.

Good luck on your new Dutch Star, you're going to love it!

I have seen sewer hose boxes installed under coaches, but have not seen any that could accommodate the large Waste Master head, which as you know, is permanently attached to the hose. Do you have pictures of your tube w/box?
