water dispenser in residential reefer in slide

We have a residential reefer in the slide in our 11 Essex (lucky us, it's a great coach). The water supply line for the ice maker and water dispenser is in the folding scissors-like folding arms under the slide. When the slide comes in the water line is crimped and no water can get to the icemaker and water dispenser. Has anyone else with a residential reefer in the slide had this problem? I'm not particularly concerned that we can't get water---what concerns me is that over time the constant crimping of the line will cause it to fail.

Yes, I've contacted Newmar and they'll look at it in November when we visit the factory, but I'd be most interested if our problem is unique. I really don't see how they can permanently remedy the problem. There just doesn't seem to any other way to get water to the reefer. Thanks. Joel

They will probably reroute water line through folding arm so it will not be crimped by electric cables.
If it breaks before, two splice out with new tube through arm you do not want it leaking with slide closed.

On our 2000 DSDP, Brett Wolfe found that one of the lines was being crimped by the same type holder. I did a little moving and tie wrapping which took care of it for us. On small stuff like that I've found it's just easier and quicker to fix it myself.

Dr D, thanks for the info. I'm pretty handy. Can you give me a little more info on how you rerouted the water line.

If your slide is open you should be able to see clips if thats what they used on yours, clips would be on the C channel edge.

Sounds like it was just installed improperly. You should be able to move the line and the tie wraps so that it has more slack at the bend so it doesn't crimp. Look to see how some of the other cables, like the coax for the TV are routed. They shouldn't be crimping either.
