Water Filter

My 2003 Kountry star has A water filter under the sink for one small faucet to get drinking water which is next to impossible to get to, so I plan on just isolating it.
Has anyone added A whole house filter to this model?

I added 2 whole house filters, in the water bay. A sediment and a charcoal. Plus I replace the one beneath the sink with an inline water filter. Not the same coach as yours but the same manufacturer.

I added one and built a housing for it. I set it on the ground and use a short hose to the filter/pressure regulator and then longer hose to the coach attachment point. I also use the filter under the sink in the kitchen.

For the water hose filter, I use this: External Housing Filter

which removes sediment, lead, chlorine and Cryptosporidium & Giardia cysts.

I have an '04 Mt Aire, same under-the-cabinet water filter set up as yours. I did the same thing, removed the filter and by-passed it for the same reason, you have be a contortionist to replace the filter. I fought it for the first couple of years when I winterized/de-winterized and then just gave it up. It's for drinking water and we carry bottled water for drinking anyway. As far connecting to city water or for filling the fresh water tank, I just use a disposable in-line filter. I have a filter housing similar to what vettenuts uses and it works just as well. To me it's just a matter of preference.

Apparently Newmar added a whole house filter to the KS sometime after 2003 because my 2008 KSDP has one. It's permanently mounted in the wet bay. And it's a standard size so you can put just about any kind of filter in it.
