Renden, this is what you have ahead of you:

You need to pull all knobs off, screws holding the different hose fittings so panel can be removed than replace the hose fitting.
Cleaning the valve behind the washer screen should help cut down drip and I use a quick connect hose fitting for my hose which will make everything stiff when tighten to the washer, maybe try an extra washer if you can get quick connect to start on fitting threads.
Just cleaning may do what you need even a little drip in water bay is not going to hurt anything.
Dave has all this brake down written up in Quick Tips 2nd section. I think he was replacing his water pump.

Thanks again ''007' - nice project for when it snows in Florida !!

Will definitely try the conservative approach, indeed

Notice your in Canada if you winterize before going to FL. its always a good idea to push in the plunger on city water fill because thats one area that will have fresh water in 1' 1/2 pipe to your whole house water filter.
When you push in the tab the anti will push out the water and keep that piece of piping safe.
That plunger is spring loaded so be gentle when you push it no need to brake the spring.

''007''

presently in Fort Myers, since November 5th

Did the valve cleaning yesterday using some CLR all-purpose cleaner - the valve (spring) is not moving (as compared to the new one received same day from Newmar) but the water return (Shureflow on) is minimal - so will try CLR again and cleaning No 2 but backflow can be stopped using a quick disconnect as you said or some other mean that shuts the water flow.

Also noticed that the screen was gone with just a small remnant of washer - I did put a new screen-washer after the cleaning

Looking at the piece sent by Newmar I can't understand why one would have to remove the whole pannel - if you have the proper tools this water fill valve could (I said could ) be screwed in from the outside (having to work in the back also !)

Can I use the water while the tank is filling via the Quick Fill valve: YES.

HOW: Turn on the rig's water pump.

Wife and I do it all the time.

If you can remove the screws holding the city collar and have enough slack on piping to pull out of hole, you maybe able to change to new valve, it would sure make it easier.

Thanks ''007'' - some day I'll try it

Cleaned the valve a 2nd time with some CLR product and this time the inside part of valve got unstuck, sending me a big gush of water in the face - have not broken the spring but do not think the valve is more competent

water valve change without problem

As you can see, in follow-up to my post and various opinions on subject, the water inlet valve can easily be taken out of the bay, without removing the bay, and change it with a new Newmar part ($12) - CLR did not work in this case
