Water is off at Camp Newmar

Hi - Just a heads up that the water is off at the new Newmar campground and will be off for the winter. If you are coming in best to come with a full tank. You can fill in the service bays but if coming on a weekend remember that you will not have water access until the following Monday.

Yes, this is northern Indiana and you'd think they would be frost proof but such is life. Lots of warm companionship however.

There are many different inexpensive ways to keep the water on all winter at their sites. Of course it starts with frost proof spigots. We used a CG in Illinois one winter that had them plus they simply placed a plastic 55 gallon drum (upside down) over the spigot with a light mounted inside.

I assume you can still dump at each site?

Thanks for the heads-up Tom. We need to plan ahead as we will be there Sunday for a Tuesday appointment. Is the overflow campground very full?

Hi - Fljoe - You'd think they would have figured that out. Either someone was asleep at the wheel or they feared that owners would not pull in their hoses and flood the lot when the hoses thawed.
superman - I haven't been over to the old campground since last weekend so I can't guess how much is open there but the new campground is not full so I'd guess the demand is low there as well. That water is, I believe, on year around.

Yep, they are probably worried about customers letting their hoses freeze up or not using heated supply hoses.

Anyone of you folkls at the service center hear anything from the employees about a meeting with Winnebago that was suppose to have happened on the 8th? Just curious if what was posted on FB was true or made up.
