Water issues
Hello everyone,
My question is when you are hooked up to a water supply direct , why when I turn the faucet on in the coach I have on pressure at the faucet. I do have great pressure when I turn on the water pump. What am i not doing right. Should not have to use the water pump when hooked up.
DStar 2017.
Thanks in advance...

Two things. First, ask the park what their normal water pressure is. If it is low (25-30 psi) that might be your problem.
Second, do you have a water pressure reducer on your hose? If so, try taking it off and see if the flow is better. Most coaches are rated to take up to 60 psi so if the parks pressure exceeds that you are better off leaving your water pressure reducer on.
We frequently use the on board tank and pump when we are at a park with low water pressure.

Follow the flow
Do you have good pressure at the compground spicket 1.
At the end of the hose running to the coach 2.
If you turn your valve to fill your fresh water tank on.
Can you hear it run in etc. Etc.

Yes all good pressure at end of hose. Do have 50psi valve on house. I would think there would be a bypass when you are hooked up at park?

Water issues
Here’s your problem, most likely...
I’ll bet you’re using the cheap, “fixed pressure” style reducer. The problem is these things also reduce FLOW (GPM), and this is exactly what you DON’T want!!
The solution, is to get an ADJUSTABLE REGULATOR model and set it for 60psi. Your flow issues will go away, just as mine did.
That said, when you DO get a regulator with a gauge, you’ll find some places give you pretty crappy pressure (like 20psi recently) and you have to boost it with your pump.
I bought this one; and it’s a top quality regulator at a great price.

you have said you have pressure but didn't say a thing about flow. do you have one of those little quarter turn shutoff valves on you hose? is it open? is there a kink in the hose? what happens if you disconnect the hose from the rv (not from the faucet)? does water flow out of the hose?

Perhaps your water filter needs to be changed?

So far thanks for the ideas. Great flow at end of hose that attaches to the coach water inlet. It will fill the tank fast. I'm thinking there should be a bypass valve or something so that when you are so called hooked to shore water it would let that water souarse override.and bypass the tank?

At least on my DS system, there is; it’s controlled by my KIB Panel in the OHCabinet. When you are connected to City Water, that source feeds directly to your water pluming in the coach; it DOES NOT go into the tank unless the TANK AUTO FILL is enabled on the panel.
Think about it for a minute. This would have to be the way all coaches are plumbed, whether by a manual valve or automatic. Otherwise, the tanks would continuously be filled (and even overflowed) when on an outside (“City”) source.

Hi Captain, yes you are right. I to have that control in my overhead. However even if I have the auto fill off and so call on standby so as to fill the water tank when needed. The water coming in to the coach should rightly go direct to all the water fixtures, and in does but only at a trickle. New filter installed 3 weeks ago. Just started camping again this year. Might have to call Newmar with this.
Thx

Where is the manual valve in your wet bay set?

Well, if you KNOW you have good water pressure and flow, then yes, something is not right.
A couple thoughts:
Have you checked your recirculating valve in the shower?
How about your manual fill valve in the wet bay? It should be left in the auto fill position, not Manual...Maybe it has been changed by accident.
Is your tank indeed filling no matter what?

Consider removing the whole coach water filter. Did this fix the problem? If so, you need a new filter. They are disposable.

Manuel valve in the auto fill position. Yes I can go to Manuel fill and it will fill tank fast.
What recirculate valve in the shower.? I only have the hand held or switch to shower head .I'm almost thinking that they didn't hook up a by pass to the tank and pump....
