Water pump continuously runs
Just got back from a trip and getting the motorhome cleaned out and noticed the water pump is continuously running even though no faucets are on. Any ideas?

I assume you have the outside shower? Check to be sure that the hot and cold valves are turned off and not just the shower head that is turned off.

Perhaps your water pump pressure switch is out of adjustment. I had to adjust mine this morning as it was pulsating while showering.

I have it how it always is, on “manual fill” when I’m not hooked up at a site.

Yes they are off. I went through coach & checked every water source & all were off.
I also checked both filters in wet bay & both are good.

That seems like more an issue on water flow, which I’m not experiencing any issues with flow or hot & cold temps.

From the installation manual:
“The by-pass is a spring loaded diaphragm that opens up allowing water from the discharge side back to the inlet side. The by-pass is set to begin opening at about 30 psi and creating full by-pass at about 65 psi. The pressure switch on the pump is set to shut off at 55 psi. If the switch or by-pass are adjusted too much, the by-pass and switch shut-off can overlap and THE PUMP WILL NOT SHUT OFF. Screwing the switch screw in clockwise will raise the shut-off pressure. “

Water pump continuously runs
Had the same problem. The pump in my DS looked like this one...
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002P33KVQ?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
I just replaced it and problem solved. I did take the original apart, but didn’t find anything wrong or adjustable. Think the pressure switch just failed.

I have yet to try adjusting the one switch is noted but I’m thinking I have the same problem I’ll probably just have to replace. I actually have the upgraded king aire pump because we have the two full bathrooms in our bunkhouse model. Appreciate the info!

So a little twist to what’s going on....
I had turned off the pump since it wouldn’t stop running when I got home from our trip. Well I just turned it back on to run the hot water in the generator area to clean off all the love bugs we hit on the way home and once getting done cleaning I went to the wet bay to verify if the pump was still running continuously and now it is stopped & is running correctly for the time being.
We’ll see what happens as our next trip isn’t for a month (I’ll be testing occasionally as we store it on side of house. Either way I’ll probably be going on Amazon and buying a back up water pump just in case it does fail in the future and we’re on the road.

Had you by any chance completely emptied the fresh water tank? If so there may have been air in the lines, which will prevent the pump from building the proper pressure.

No we were down to about 40% when we got home. Strange, but glad it’s working again.
