Water pump losing suction

Losing suction on the water pump. The strainer bowl looks like it as a few small cracks near the top of the bowl.

Has this happened to anyone? If so where did you get just the clear bowl? The bowls are out of stock from NEWMAR.

I will try to silicone and wrap with some sealing tape and see what happens.

Not looking for the complete strainer just the bowl portion. NEWMAR sells just the bowl but has none in stock.

I may have to get a strainer to get just the bowl piece.

I'm betting buying the whole piece on Amazon will be cheaper than just the bowl from Newmar.

Also check the check valve in your fresh water hose connection. It can get debris stuck in the valve and cause it to draw air into the system, when using the pump. A way to check it, is to screw a cap into the hose fitting, to seal it.

The bowl at NEWMAR was $15 but did not have any. I used some clear kitchen and bath silicone. Let it cure over night then wrapped the bowl with some stretchy magic tape.

Back to normal so those small cracks were enough just like the check valve potential. So going for just 5 days so need to get it fixed. The water pump issue highlights the need to have another pump option. I have read and bookmarked others who have a switchable alternative pump. This may get the backup pump project higher on the list!
