Exclamation Water pump on Ventana 3412 not working

Hi Everyone, I have a 2020 Newmar Ventana 3412. My practice is to drain the fresh water tank before leaving on trips/changing locations to cut the weight of the coach. On a recent trip, with the tank empty, with the pump on, I opened a faucet and as expected got a few sputters and then nothing. When I got to the next stop, I connected to city water and filled the fresh water tank to 25 or 30%, then shut off the city water and turned on the water pump. Nothing. Went outside to the water bay and can feel the pump running but silently. (Normally when pump is on and a faucet is open, the pump running makes considerable vibrating noise.)
Wondering if there is a procedure to prime the pump or is there something else I need to do? I have read the threads about replacing the pump and they dont mention the priming step. Coach just turned a year old on 6/30 when I bought it new.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
Mike

My pump doesn't need priming, as they are self priming. check the 'filter' for contamination.

I beleieve he is referring to the pump inlet screen or "filter". They are usually in plastic housings and can sometime leak or crack allowing air to enter and prevent the pump from self priming.
you might try drawing some water from a bucket into the winterization hose / system - that should go directly to the pump (but a cracked screen housing will still be a problem)

Problem Solved!

Thanks for the replies, Folks! I checked the cover on the inlet filter and it was loose. Took it off, checked for debris, put it back together and the pump primed itself.
Very appreciative of your help!
Cheers!
