Water pump pressure pot

I have been thinking about installing a water pressure pot to keep a more stable pressure when running off the pump. I am not sure of the advantages other than keeping the pump from cycling as often, especially when only opening a faucet a small amount.

Any of you done this?
Your thoughts?

RV pump systems work well as designed. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

The accumulator tanks are really not needed anymore. Your money would be better spent on buying a variable speed water pump. No more surging and they're very quiet.

X2. I have a variable speed pump for the first time ever, and really do enjoy it. Very constant supply and pressure.

I have installed 2 gallon pressure tanks in both RVs. We love it. It does exactly what you described, keeps the pump silent when you need only a small amount of water, up to 2 gallons. It also provides two more gallons of water capacity in the system.

If you do it, install a cutoff valve near the tank so you don't fill it full of antifreeze when winterizing the system.

IMO- RVs are not generally well made or well designed. Most are made at the low end of the market niche they're targeted for. This forum is full of posts from people trying to fix some thing or another.
