Water pump problem
I have a 2006 Dutchstar model 3817, and I think I had this problem before but forgot the simple fix. I just had the motorhome at a RV park and hooked up to city water, with plenty of waterflow. When we left, I turned on the pump to run a faucet and it started to spit out air and water at all of the fixtures like it was clearing air out for the first time. But this continues to happen no longer how long I run the pump. I checked the filter at the pump and it is clean. The water tank has plenty of water, and the pump worked fine before we got to the Park. The pump is working fine it seems, but it continues to act like there is air in the lines and the water just spits out. Any ideas about what is wrong. I think it is probably something simple that I forgot to do, as I am a pretty new owner.

You don't happen to have the valves set up to winterize the coach where the pump would be pulling antifreeze from a jug do you?

Water pump
No, I chose to dry winterize since I live in a Southern State. It was working before we hooked up to a city connection.

I checked the tank fill valve and it is off (on my unit off means that the valve handle is horizontal, which it is right now, when it is vertical, that is when I fill it or use city water) I think I got it right, but let me know. I might check the water heater and let some air out ( I saw that on a prior thread. Thanks for your imput!

You guys were right! I remember that I put some Bleach solution in my fresh water tank through the winterizing lines and I forgot to close them when I was done. That must have been the problem. I will close them tomorrow and try it. I am sure that is the problem, thanks again!

That will do it!!!
To fill the water lines and the Hot Water tank hook up to a water line/pressurized source and open all taps until there is no air.
Have Fun
Rick
