I have noticed that the water pump produces pulses of water at lower demand levels. When the shower is running the flow rate is steady, but when the toilet is filling, or a sink is being filled, the flow rate cycles up & down.
Is this normal for Newmar water pumps? And if so what is a possible fix?

All water pumps in all RVs do this.....well there may be a few exceptions.
The fix is the addition of an expansion tank.
With an expansion tank the pump runs to fill the tank, then shuts off.

Thanks Dirk - sounds like an addition to the to-do list.

You may want to consider replacing your current pump with a Shurflo Smart Sensor 5.7 GPM.
This pump requires no expansion tank or pressure switch.

This pump may be another good solution, and the literature indicates it is.
I wonder if anyone has tried it?

With our 5.7(ordered with the coach from Newmar) still needed a small accumulator. It pumps a lot of water, so if you are dry camping keep an eye out for heavy water users.

My Suncruiser came standard with a Shurflo 5.7. Have plenty of pressure with no pulsing. I have no expansion tank but it did come with the optional Shurflo strainer filter.

Hi! Thanks guys! I think I like the idea of upgrading the pump. Dave, I hope to meet you some day on the road. It seems you have added more great stuff to your coach then anyone I have ever heard of. I would love to see some of it. You should write a book! Paul

Paul, Thanks , have not had time to do much since traveling here in Alaska(only washed the coach once), hope to get busy when we return to lower 48 in September.

Don't know if this is like comparing apples & oranges, but I installed the Surflo 5.7 in the old 03 KSDP and it helped, but still noisy (to my ears) and still pulses, although not as bad. It too had the strainer.
Think I'll try the accumulator first and see if that helps.
