Water Tank Access behind TV

I needed to access the holding tanks behind the television in the basement of my ‘19 Mountain Aire. I found it extremely difficult to remove the plywood panel that the TV was attached to as it was glued and screwed. I pretty much destroyed everything except the board the TV attached to.
Newmar CS tells me the new New Aires have a Hinged Panel that the TV attaches to allowing for easy access to the water tanks and electrical components behind the TV.

Could somebody take some pictures of this system, both the hinges and the latching system? This would be very helpful as I have to completely rebuild this area.

Here's a thought, rather than install a wall and a hinge, how about one or two pieces of vertical steel in the center of the opening, attached to floor and ceiling. Then mount a good quality TV mount to the vertical steel that swivels and tilts. Costco has a pretty good one.

Once done, they sell a black cardboard like material (actually plastic) that you could cut out to fit the opening behind the TV, possibly held on with Velcro and will seal off the opening.

You would still have access to the tanks.

Thanks for your reply. The one difficulty with your idea is the lack of support structure on the top side of the water bay. In Newmar’s original design all attachments were either on the floor or the sides of the bay.

Just bolt through the frame of the door opening. You may need a short bracket to stand the vertical bracket back a few inches for the thickness of the TV and mount.

My 11 Mountain Aire I have to remove the TV to access the tanks also. The panel that the TV is mounted to is screwed to braceses on the sides and bottom. I have removed it a couple of times and am able to just remove the screws then remove the board and reinstall it all. I do have to remove the door supports and support the door. If yours was glued and screwed that sounds like it needs a modification. A hinged access sounds interesting but I think would have to be to small to be able to work on the tanks or wiring.

I just had my TV out and serviced the backboard (loose). I can't see how a hinged panel would help out. The back panel is about 6 inches recessed into the cavity and no matter which way you hinge it there would be limited access. I reinforced the aluminum frame and installed a new back board. It would take me about 15 minutes to get to the tanks with a cordless driver if I needed to get access. I'm OK with that as I know the tv is currently secure and can't bounce around now.

I wouldn't put a hinged panel if it were me. JMO..
