Smile We Did it!!

Hi all,

I've been roaming around this site for the last year or so and have learned so much from all of you! So thank you! And we just purchased a 2016 Newmar Baystar 3124 -It's a beauty! I've already booked some campgrounds in the Northeast for part of next summer. We plan to be on the road from May-October. We have lots to learn and I am happy to have this site as a continued resource! First thing I have to do is purchase Insurance!

This site has been so very helpfu.l

Well congrats! That looks like a very nice rig! I might have to look more closely at one of these, since it has a king sized bed. That's what we have in our old rig and honestly the ONLY reason my wife wanted it. Well okay..maybe not the 'only' reason but it was HIGH on her list. For me it was the low miles, 36K and the engine sounded tight. But having a newer rig with those same features might be nice. PLUS having a HUGE slide would be great!

Please post back with some of your pics and thoughts on how you like/dislike things.

Good luck and have a great time with your new rig!

Oh, found this spec sheet in case anyone else was wondering:

Congratulations! We saw a 3124 three years ago, and that's what decided us on Newmar. We loved the big slide and extra room in the bedroom. Unfortunately, we couldn't afford one at the time and wound up with an older and slightly smaller 2901. It's been a great coach, and I keep telling myself I didn't really need all that room in the bedroom anyway. But, maybe next time....

Congratulations!!!

You will love it! We have been fortunate to have had very few issues with our 2016 3124 over the past almost 3 years.

Keep a package of drawer latches on hand. Ours seem to be failing lately, but they are easy to replace.

The best change we made about a year in was replacing the front anti-sway bar and adding a rear track bar. It made the ride feel a lot better!

Welcome to the family. Stay close. The day may come when you have more questions. We're here to help. Oh, when you back into something, and there is a good probability you will, let us know. We'll commiserate with you and send pictures of all the things we've backed into (mine was a 4' diameter rock in Utah).

Its a big country out there and you've got a new RV to get some scratches on.

Let us know how it goes.

Go slow. When in doubt remember your G.O.A.L. - get out and look. I learned from watching professional truck drivers (the real ones), it is better to take 15 min. To back into a space and get in undamaged than to be a cowboy and hurting your ego, coach and pocketbook.
