We love our 2018 MA, let me tell you why

We have been RVing since 2010, not full-time. We are now in our 4th coach, a 2018 Mountain Aire 4531. Our previous coach was purchased in November 2014 and spent most of the 3 ˝ years we owned it either in the shop or on the way to the shop. It was nothing short of the coach from Hell! This year we had planned our normal 4 month summer (get out of Florida) trip to begin on May1. But before that trip was to begin we had a short rally to attend at Lazydays in Tampa. Wouldn’t you know it we had slide issues again at Lazydays and into the shop it went. It was finally fixed on May 1, the day our 4 month trip was to start. So we picked up the RV and started our trip on May 1 and made it to our first stop in Daytona Beach and things started going wrong … again.

I told the wife this was not what RVing was supposed to be and that I had had enough. We had been researching new RVs and had narrowed our list to an Anthem and a Dutch Star. A quick internet search found a nearby dealer in Winter Garden, Independence RV. We took a day trip to Independence and met with salesmen Jon and David and came to a deal within hours to buy a 2018 Mountain Aire that was in stock and had everything we would have ordered.

On May 11th we left Winter Garden in our new MA and quickly were back on schedule for our 132 day summer trip. I swore in the past that I would never start a long trip in a new RV without a decent test trip, but here I was a victim of my emotions.

7000 miles, 17 states, and 32 stops later and we love our MA. We had some minor issues, but none stopped our trip. There were some cabinet doors that wouldn’t stay closed and some cosmetic issues that needed to be resolved. The bottom line is the coach performed flawlessly. When we had some questions or concerns the Newmar reps were a phone call away. One instance where I had a concern, I called the Newmar rep at about 8am on a Sunday morning. He returned my call at 9:30 and apologized for not getting back sooner, but that he had been in church. He then had me do a reset of the Siverleaf system and all was resolved.

I hope I never have to buy another coach, but if I do it will be a Newmar. I cant recommend Newmar and Independence RV enough. The total experience has been wonderful. (No, I will not identify my previous coach)

Glad you are enjoying your MADP. I've got a 08 MADP and have had it since February. Love every minute I'm in it. Very few issues and I keep up with this forum so I can check for potential problems and repair advice. All the guys are very helpful on here. As for not naming your previous coach I don't think anyone will mind because we have top of the line and won't be buying or trading downwards. Lol

Suffice to say, it wasn't a Newmar...right?

We picked up our 2018 Mountain Aire 4047 in June and have had a similar good experience. Yes, we had a couple of minor glitches that either I fixed, or we had fixed at a shop recommended and approved by Newmar. And, our Newmar Mountain Aire specialist, Mike, was great to work with. We called him on a Saturday afternoon and he interrupted his backyard BBQ to get us in contact with Spartan to identify a potential problem and suggest a fix.

All RVs will have some issues. What matters is how they are dealt with. Our experience with Newmar in this regard has been stellar.
