Weight limit on Shower bench

Ok I'm a big boy 6'1" 350 Lb.'s. I have had 4 heart attacks and a stroke since 2012. I am considering a DS 4369. Does anyone know the safe weight limit for the shower bench seat?
I'm sure I'm not going to lose a significant amount of weight anytime soon.
Thanks in advance.

It looks pretty sturdy on my 4369 and there is no posted weight limit. I suspect if “you fits you sits” but best to check with Newmar. Try this DS specialist email

Weight limit on Shower bench

I recommend getting a heavy duty shower stool from a medical supply store.

On our 18 LA it doesn't feel like the seat in the shower would hold that weight. When I put my foot on it to wash my feet you can feel the seat really moving away from the wall. I wouldn't try to seat on seat at 240LBS.

I think she may be right. I have a med chair here at home and it is rated for 450. Thank your wife for me.

NellyBelle.....I'm 6'2" 330 and have never tried the bench. I think that would be pushing it to it's limit. With that said, if you really feel safer sitting on it, have a stainless arm cut to fit and attach it to the underside of the front edge with a pin that allows it to swivel with the seat up or down. When up, the arm would lay flat against the seat. When down, it would give plenty of support to the front edge.

I’ve ordered this from Amazon; as it looks like the same as Newmar are installing. I need a couple of replacement seat planks.

Read the reviews - some interesting feedback:

Hi - Key phrase from the ad...."400 Lb Capacity: Sturdy construction supports weight up to 400 lbs (when installed directly into wall beams by professional contractors, please consult your contractor before purchasing)". You are not going to find "wall beams" in the residential sense, in a motor home. An inch and a half fiberglass and aluminum wall sounds too light. You might be able to special extra metal in the wall. That's worth checking into.
